It was a breeze. Could not be better. ... Villa Monica was 'exactly' what my wife, Mary Ellen and I were looking for when we decided to use Sorrento for our base on our trip to Italy this month! What a panoramic view from our room balcony over looking the city below and the incredible harbour! One clear morning Mount Vesuvius seemed so close it was really breathtaking! Words cannot truly describe the feelings we felt with Capri in the distance. Pasquale, the owner looks after every detail. The house (for that is what it really is) is so tastefully decorated with natural wood furnishings, ceramic tiling, paintings, and so forth. There is always plenty to eat at breakfast, and the coffee, (espresso or cappucino) like the croissants and bread, and orange juice, always fresh that morning. In fact, the housekeeper, Sonja is always ready to make another fresh cup. And there are muffins too. Pasquale, an easy going and likeable young man (proud of his wife, Monica, and their two year old son, Antonio. The three live in their home on the same property) will take you to town (train station, bus, or ferry dock) any time of day, and all one needs to do is call him, and in five minutes or so he's there to take you back to this wonderful villa up on the mountain (no charge)! From this location not only is Capri near by, but so are the coastal Napoli, Positano, and the one of a kind town of Amalfi. Sorrento itself is a wonderful city for walking with so much to see and do. The people are friendly, and the restaurants fabulous! We're glad we stayed with Pasquale!

We did not have a car and Villa Monica was a good car ride. The owner picked us up and was very accomodating throughout our whole stay. ... The hospitality of the owners was exceptional. As I said before, we did not have a car but daily arrangements were made to drop us off in town and pick us up in the evening. ... Extraordinary views, wonderful hospitality. You really get the feel of how families live and are in that area which is very positive. Everyone extremely helpful and gracious.

These people are wonderful! They go over and above to make your stay fabulous. They personally drive you into Sorrento, and pick you up when you are done. They are absolutely wonderful people, and we highly recommend anyone who wishes to actually sleep well while in Sorrento to stay with them! ... wow....absolutely beautiful! ... the photos cannot possibly do it justice! ... not only the best bang for the buck, but some of the nicest people you will ever meet

Amazingly friendly service, great breakfast, a bit far from the center of town but the incredible views and quiet nights are worth it (and the courtesy shuttle into town is very convenient).
