We felt very welcome from the second we arrived, probably more so than anywhere else we have ever stayed (and we travel a lot!)

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful in all regards, from helping us to find places to eat over the christmas period, to recommending places to see, and giving directions.

Positive: Its location truly in the centre of Amalfi, the fact that it is run by the owners in person, and the extremely friendly nature of the hotel.
Neagtive: There is nothing negative one could possibly say about Villa Lara!

We have already recommended it to several people - it is a wonderful place to stay (more like staying with friends than staying in a hotel), in a wonderful area. What more can you say!

An excellent place to relax and be made to feel welcome. The people that run the place are very friendly and they were very good at giving you local knowledge. I would definately recommend this place.
The location is also very central and you can easily share in the feeling of Amalfi.

It was a very charming, cosy hotel situated high up with a beautiful view over Amalfi and to the hills.
Rooms were nice, spacy and clean.The breakfast was rather simple but good. Staff was helpful,they had time to give good advices.

Thought we had asked for a room with a balcony. Room was fine other than that.

The staff, expecially Roberto and the owner were great. We had some great conversations and they were alway ready to help. When we decided not to drive and were not able to get a tour to Pompei, they arrnaged a car to take us and bring us back when we were ready.

No problems and as we had to leave early the next day, we were able to check out the night before and saved us time in the morning. No car parking but they arranged to have parking in a private garage. A little inconvenient, but worked out well.

Nor car friendly, but Amalfi is not the best best place to bring a car. Fun to drive the roads once, but after that the lack of parking and narrow roads detract from the experience.

Would recoomend to anyone who likes to be near the center (5 minute walk) but far enough away to have quiet when you need it. Shower very modern but a little tight and the breakfast was basic. But the views from the roof and the staff more than made up for the few inconveniences.

We were very pleased with the reception we received on arrival, although we found the hotel sign a bit discrete.
