Prisoner of its history! So Tomasi di Lampedusa describes Sicily in his novel " The Leopard". Several civilizations, from the Phoenicians to the Bourbons, have over the centuries received hospitality in this Island. They have been shaped Sicily's culture, traditions and the islanders' somatic features. Explosion of colours and gaiety, from the donkey drawn painted carts, to the famous life-size performing puppets, glorious interpreters of ancient histories which have not completely been forgotten.

If you are eager to discover this land, the largest Mediterranean island, to enjoy its mild climate, to walk along the sunny coast, to delight in sipping lemon sorbets sitting in the shade of the Citrus-grove or to trek on Etna, Villa Chiarenza is the place you are looking for. The 18th century villa, in Sicilian baroque style, which had been Dominicans' summer residence, in the last century, now is an elegant and spacious place to spend an ideal holiday.

The villa has completely been restored taking care of all particulars and has been furnished with antiques. The refinement of the details shows the owners' elegant taste. The B&B is managed by Salvatore & Agata, he is a retired fish-wholesaler, and she is an artist. After their six sons grew, now working around the Italy, they decided to place their communicative ability and good manners in the tourist trade.

The villa has a spacious garden embellished with a large Caltagirone vase collection with several cacti-plants which the hostess takes care of. There are corners in the shade of pines, eucalypti and citrus-groves in which all comforts will allow you to dedicate yourself to read your favourite books. A soccer field is placed at the children's disposal.

The entire villa is surrounded with a particular portico, it holds a wide penthouse which will allow the maximum coolness even in the warmest days. The hand made brickwork floor gives a very contribution to the elegance. The gracious pergola is in peaceful corner in which you will hear the crickets' song during the summer evenings. The plentiful breakfast will be served under the portico among the flowers, and the peace that you will find in this house will soon be dear to you.
