Warmth, greenery, flowers, smiles, tranquillity, romanticism: these are some of the most important aspects which characterize the Hotel Villa Abbazia, a a structure combining an old noble’s palace and a majestic Venetian villa, set in the heart of the Veneto countryside along the “Strada del Prosecco” (the Prosecco wine road). |
One of the most important attractions of the Veneto region is undoubtedly the Venetian Villa. These noble country houses much desired by the Venetian aristocracy during the XVI century often as summer residences, were constructed in evocative settings in the provinces of Venezia, Vicenza, and, of course, Treviso. |
At the same time, the noble families of the hinterland, holiday areas for the patricians of the most serene Republic of Venice, built imposing palaces where they lived and entertained their noble Venetian friends, a privilege reserved to only a few people. With the passing of time, and with the economic decline of many Venetian noble, many of these beautiful residences were closed and with time fell into disrepair. |
Only recently have certain private citizens begun to restructure them – aware of the beauty and great artistic value and heritage contained in these residences – and in some case turn them into hotels, to give the entire world the opportunity to rediscover the ancient art of living of the Venetian nobles: one of these residences was called “Villa Abbazia”. |
 The Hotel Villa Abbazia offers a warm atmosphere within a pleasant natural context. The main building from the XVII century which houses the majority of the rooms, and the Liberty Villa from the end of the 1800’s which contains 4 independent suites, were constructed at the foot of the Venetian Pre-Alps in an area of the Province of Treviso which is ideal for those who love the greenery of the countryside without having to give up the pleasure of a visit to the most romantic city of the world: Venice. |
