Ancient Medieval town of Umbria, is the richest and most important commercial and industrial centre of the Umbrian Valley, and the main communication centre of the whole region. It was called "land-port of the Papal State" because of its route centrality. Located in east central Umbria, in the province of Perugia, is the third town of Umbria and has 55.645 inhabitants. It is crossed by the Topino river where it leaves the Apennines and enters the wide plain of the Clitunno river system. Foligno is a gorgeous town to visit, and is also an excellent starting point for visiting all Umbria: Assisi (15 km), Spello (6 km - 4 mi), Trevi 10 km (6 mi), Perugia: 40 km (25 mi), Montefalco (11 km), Spoleto (25 km).

Giostra della Quintana: this Medieval Joust makes Foligno famous throughout the world. Divided in 10 guilds, the whole town of Foligno and its people become involved in the challenge. Apart from the Joust, the Historical Parade and the Tabards (open until late at night for excellent food and wine) just can't be missed!

I Primi d'Italia is dedicated to the World of Main Course Dishes. It is a unique event, promoting the culture of a typical Italian tradition: Pasta, Gnocchi and Risotto, and does it in a very original way, casting the epicurean in a fascinating universe made of taste and quality, fun, culture and curiosity.

Segni Barocchi Festival (Festival of Baroque Marks) has been organised in Foligno since 1981, and proposes concerts, exhibitions, parades in costumes, roundabout of arms, theatre shows and cinema exhibitions, all having the "Baroque" as their core theme and the influences of this artistic movement in the centuries following the 17th.
