We had a thoroughly pleasant stay at a superb hotel, with first rate staff who were always welcoming and helpful. The meal we enjoyed in the hotel restaurant was excellent, and the ambience in the hotel bar was second to none. We are planning to return later in the year. ... It would perhaps be helpful if you could include instructions how best to reach the hotel from the nearby airports without a car, or stress the importance of being able to rent a car. I only comment on this because we did not realise the journey from Milan Bergamo to the hotel would take 5-6 hours each way, so neither of us had brought our driving licenses with us. ... As highly recommended, a complete delight - full of things to do and very relaxing.

Upon arrival, our first thought was: 'We picked the right place this time!' The hotel really lives up to its name 'Grand Hotel Tremezzo Palace', on Lake Como with an unbelievable view to Bellagio, across the lake to the south. ... We stayed in Room 420 on the top floor Northern corner of the hotel. We had a balcony facing Lake Como with uninterrupted views across the lake, to the north and to the south. We also had a french door window on the northern wall of our room with an incredible view to the south toward Bellagio. ... Our one week stay was so relaxing, so enjoyable, we nearly cried at time of check out. ... When talking about Lake Como vacations, Hotel Villa d'Este and Hotel Villa Serbelloni often dominate the discussion. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo Palace is the hidden jewel of Lake Como, that provides a Lake front location, with world-class service, at about half what would be charged at the other two hotels. ... If you consider Ritz-Carlton level comfort and service a must on your vacation, but you want to experience the Lake Como region of Italy, you absolutely owe it to yourself to stay at the Grant Hotel Tremezzo. Be sure to request a lake facing room. The comfort, decor, size of rooms, and high level of service, will be an experience you will never forget.

Wonderful service from start to finish. ... You shold include info on the floating pool and sun terrace. A real boon. ... Fabulous, full of 1920's Art Deco style and charm. It's the place people stop and look at from the roadside and promise next time they'll stay there. It's also so handy for travel around Lake Como.

They facilities are a bit old but well maintained. Only thing that I was not happy about is that in our bedroom, the headboard of our bed came off the wall and it was banging our head when we got up. We were only staying at the hotel for the night and we found out only in the morning. So we didn't even try to get anything out of it. Other than that, we loved their services, the location, and all the facilities that we could use. I mentioned our anniversary to one of the staffs when we made a dinner reservation. They gave us one of the most beautiful tables in the restaurant and also brought us a surprise anniversary cake to our room. Their invidual services to a different guests are thier unique assets. ... Great place to stay. The staffs are very professional and they provide excellent services for guests.

Our arrival was confused by a delayed flight but the front desk did handle changing our car pick-up arrangements. However they could have been a little friendlier in helping us understand the confusing and very necessary boats on lake Como. ... Vey good location on the lake for touring Como. ... The street runs between the hotel and the lake w/ a lot of traffic on the street as it is the only way around como. So it is a bit noisy- I wore earplugs. the back side of the hotel, facing the garden is quiet as is the pool that is there. The views from the front are spectacular and it is a great location for a base for touring the lake. The breakfast included was fantastic, cappuchinos and full menu (eggs, omeletts, meets, cheese, fruit, pastries etc)… ... Relaxing, but also busy, a lot of boats coming and going so it takes a while to get used to the pace and relax because the flow of things. The floating pool was great, though a bit cold, the summer came late this year. The garden pool is warmer and more relaxing very sedate. The hotel food was good but over priced, but the breakfast included was fantastic, cappuchinos and full menu (eggs, omeletts, meets, cheese, fruit, pastries etc)… I would like to spend a full week at Tremezzo to tour the lake and then find a quieter place to relax a while.

The dining room was old fashioned European with slow service . Most of the time I was made to feel as if I was intruding upon the dining room staff's personal conversations . Nobody should have to wait for coffee every morning . In today's world it is a given that people want coaffee right away . ... The dinner takes three or more hours to arrive and is not particularly worth the wait . I would rather go down the street and have a less expensive , better meal . ... Beautiful classic rroms with an outstanding pool . The pool staff was friendly and were a pleasure to deal with .

we arrived late and the rooms we were told we would get i.e. one twin and one double were not there, they were both doubles ... The rooms need doing up, not especially special, the bathroom is getting dated. Would expect a bit more for a 5* hotel in terms of the bedrooms - need a few more gagets, put fruit in the room, and so on, maybe a cd play, dvd player, internet access available etc. Otherwise the rest was perfect! very good food, great view, fantastic pool on the lake (even though build work was still going on). Breakfast was brilliant ... no ... pool on lake ... very good, luxurious, but rooms are a bit sparse (we had a lake view superior room)great food and pool.
