If we were to do this region again, I don't think I would stay at Torre Burchio considering the extra effort it took to reach. Torre Burchio is a little remote in the sense that we had to travel for fifteen minutes on a windy mountain-side gravel road to access the property. This was not indicated in any of the information regarding the property. Being both mine and my wife's first visit to Italy, unfamiliar with our surroundings, having to deal with the Italy's poor road signage, nutty drivers, and the unfortunate wet weather, the gravel road came as suprise we weren't exactly happy to encounter.

While the property's ammenities met our needs for a bed, I found the place a little lacking in comfort, at least at the level I'm accostumed to here in the states for a similar type of establishment. Recognizing this is a B&B ('agriturismo') I don't expect it to have the feel of a large chain hotel but I was a bit putoff that we were given a handicap accessible room that had the feel of 'Camp Snoopy' rather than a comfortable Bed and Breakfast. Dealing with the retractable shower took a little getting used to. The bed was uncomfortable making it difficult to get a good nights sleep.

On the plus side, the food prepared for our morning breakfast was very good and hot. The coffee tasted amazing. We were greeted with a welcoming smile and a warm 'buon giorno' from the staff.

Not included in any of the liturature is the fact that Torre Burchio is fifteen minutes outside the town of Bettone and is only accessible by a gravel, mountain-side road.

While I'm sure this is a great place if you're looking to 'rough it' without roughing it, TB would fill the bill just fine. We weren't looking to rough it. It's not a knock on TB, we just picked the wrong place. While visiting the nearby town of Bettone we discovered a nice place that we would consider staying at instead.
