The nearest airport to the island is Catania "Fontane Rosse" with frequent flights from various cities. From Catania you can take the bus to Milazzo Port, which takes approx 1,hour 45 minutes and from Milazzo there are frequent Hydrofoil connections to Vulcano

From Naples (crossing time approx. 6 hours) there is one daily departure and 2 daily dapartures in high season. From the following towns there are frequent daily departures: Reggio Calabria (crossing time approx. 2 hours, Messina (crossing time approix. 1 hour and 30 minutes), Palermo (crossing time approx. 4 hours), Milazzo there are frequent Hydrofoil connections to Vulcano/Lipari.
