Restaurant - Sarah's Italian hospitality Palazzo Terranova style always means excellent food, great wine from the never ending and fascinating wine list and invigorating conversation. The award winning restaurant mixes classic Italian cooking with lively contempoary food. Most of the fresh vegetables, olive oil and honey are home grown on the pure hillsides of the estate.

The kitchen produces lively food that changes with the seasons.
The wines and oils are local, some made by the Townsends themselves. This is truffle country and when in season, porcini muhrooms are mainstays in the kitchen. Game is also a local speciality.
 
Wild boar, pheasant, venison and partridge regularly come to the table. The cooking is in the local tradition, distilled to produce what is simply best. Colourful plates of vegetables or seasonal berries straight from the garden, roasted meats flavoured with herbs picked from the terracotta pots that stand right by the kitchen door or crisp pizzas pulled directly from the cavernous wood fired oven are available every day. We have a dining inside which seats 24 and an outside terrace with stunning views across the valley.

A
buffet breakfast is available in the dining room and on the terrace from 7:30am to 10:30am. If you prefer breakfast brought to your room let us know the evening before. A cooked breakfast is also available on request, with an extra small supplement. The dinner menu is available at the bar from 5:00pm and orders are taken between 6:30pm and 8:30pm and guests are kindly asked to be seated no later than 9pm. We are happy to prepare picnic lunches or let us know if you have some special dietary requirements. We are happy to arrange a snack for later arrivals, between 3pm and 7pm and after 10pm.
 
Cooking Experiences - take the experience home with you. From half day Risotto, Pizza or Pasta making to three day courses developed around the Truffle and Chocolate festivals.

Wine Tours - Visit Montefalco for the famous Sagrantino wine and Montalcino for the famous Brunello. Chianti is just a short drive away over the hill into Tuscany. Tastings and tours of wineries can be arranged.
 
Swimming Pool - The swimming pool has been methodically carved into the mountain side giving the most spectacular views while swimming and relaxing by the pool. By the pool there is a bar, where you can have your lunch and towels are available for the guests.

SPA Treatments - located next to the swimming pool, "Il tempio" is the answer to body pampering and total relaxation. Temple Spa is a new lifestyle brand for men and women: a fusion of products, philosophy and spa. If you step into the spa you will enter in the perfect setting giveing over to your total enjoyment and benefit.

Weddings & Ceremonies - Palazzo Terranova is available for weddings, ceremonies and parties and can be taken over exclusively. Dinner or lunch for weddings or ceremonies usually entails a menu that focuses on a number of different tastings, served in the garden or by the swimming pool or on the covered veranda.
 
In General - We can arrange a babysitting service and a taxi service is available for excursions to surrounding areas. There is an internet point in "La Limonaia" and the service is available after breakfast and before cocktail hour. Laundry bags are located in your rooms and there is a wide selection of books and magazine in our library. Some games are available at the bar, where faxes, letters and messages for the guests are left. In the property there is a parking free of charge.

Walking - explore the hills and beauty of Umbria with one of our Terranova walking guides, enjoy a picnic in the poppy fields, discover wild culinary herbs. Itineraries include: In the footsteps of Piero Della Francesca (Monterchi-San Sepolcro-Arezzo), Transfer to Florence via Chianti, the Ancient cities in the Lands of the Olive Oil - (Spoleto-Trevi-Spello) and Giotto, S.Francesco, Sargantino - (Assisi-Bevagna-Montefalco).

Cycling - a great way to discover the secrets of Umbria with our Umbrian cycling guide, Giovanni whose passion for the local area is irresistible. An expert on nature and its seasonal secrets, he will take you off the beaten track, let you discover a traditional frantoia - oil-pressing mill and stop for lunch at a local farm and taste local produce often used in our kitchen. Find Orchids and wild flowers long forgotten in an area that is free from the affects of modern farming methods.

Horse Riding - Ivan with stables near to Terranova encourages riders of all ages and experience to enjoy a minimum 2 hours riding through our unspoilt soft rolling hills of Umbria. An experience never forgotten.

Culture - Assisi, Perugia, Cortona - It is always a delight to have an enthusiastic guide to lead you on a discovery of the area. We work with several knowledgeable guides who constantly return our guests full of stories and wonderment at the area's rich history.

Fashion Outlets - Gucci, Prada, Lori are only an hour away whilst on our doorstep in Umbria we have leather, cashmere and linen.

Artisans - jewellery, ceramics, artists and craftsman using metal, wood and glass. Many examples of local artigiani is on show at Palazzo Terranova.

Palazzo Terranova is located in the north of Umbria near the Tuscan border and is
easily accessed from Florence and Rome airports. It serves as the perfect base for explorations of Renaissance Italy and major Umbrian towns, including Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, and Spello, as well as Cortona and Arezzo in neighbouring Tuscany.

East southeast of the better known district of Tuscany lies
a land of tobacco and vines; biscuit coloured towns and villages cresting craggy hills, and acres of thick forest. Winding roads hug the sexy hillsides that rise from the plains to the craggy heights of the land of Piero della Francesca, Michaelangelo, Raffaello and Luca Signorelli.

Wine enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the Montefalco, Orvieto, Montepulciano, and Chianti districts. And poetry lover's can also indulge. The Byron Society in Italy is based at Palazzo Terranova.
