Accommodations

 The love and care that went into the restoration of Palazzo Terranova is evident everywhere you look, but especially in each of the eight imaginatively decorated bedrooms. Each has its own theme and configuration and all have names from the world of opera, such as "La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto, Verdi, Violetta, La Boheme, Tosca, and Turandot". |
 Sarah's creativity brought to life by Italian master craftsmen, and rich and wondrous furniture, paintings and other decorative items collected by Sarah and her husband throughout their marriage give each room its own character and ensure that no two rooms are alike. Spacious bathrooms were created where previously there had been none and the 14 bedrooms were decorated to Sarah's exacting standards in colours inspired by Piero della Francesca. Our bedrooms are non smoking to offer a real welcoming ambience. |
 LA TRAVIATA is an exceptional suite on the first floor which is painted corn yellow and pale green. It is large and gracious with breathtaking views across the valley. The luxurious bedroom features a super king size four poster bed and there is an adjoining dressing room. In the large en-suite bathroom there is a hand carved marble bath and separate shower room.
VIOLETTA leads off the Blue Sitting Room, shared by all the rooms on the second floor, and has beautiful views of the Umbrian hills. Painted a pale delicate lilac with touches of yellow in the en-suite bathroom, Violetta is the perfect room for a romantic getaway. The bed is a super king size four poster made of wrought iron.
TURANDOT on the top floor is the other mansarde room, which has a sloping ceiling and oval floor level windows giving it wonderful character. This is Terranova's family room; as well as the main bedroom with a romantic double bed there is another room with two single beds (available for use at an additional cost), and a large selection of children's books. The bathroom is en-suite. |
 BELLINI has the same stunning views as La Traviata. Painted soft peach and dove gray, the large bedroom features a wrought iron super king sized bed. The luxurious bathroom is en-suite and there is a small walk on balcony overlooking the terrace and hills beyond. Bellini also boasts one of only two working fireplaces of all the bedrooms in the main house.
LA BOHEME is centrally located on the top floor with wonderful views of the valley. Painted a warm faded terracotta, the room has a canopied super king size bed, shower room, and a separate "hydro-massagio" tub.
RIGOLETTO is a beautiful intimate room on the second floor decorated in soft plum and apricot. There is a hand painted super king size bed. In the adjoining dressing room there is a single day-bed making this room ideal for a couple with a child. Rigoletto also has an en-suite shower room. |
 VERDI is painted a clear crystal green and is loved for its beautiful light and wonderful antique furniture. The room features a super king size four poster bed, and the bathroom has a bath and a shower. Both the room and the bathroom have stupendous views from the front of the house.
LA BIBLIOTECA is painted in medieval manuscript colours of pink and lilac. Guests enter into a large sitting room, complete with hand carved stone fireplace between two archways which lead into the smaller bedroom. Both rooms are lined with 16th century carved walnut bookshelves and from the small walk on balcony in the bedroom there is a wonderful view of the hills. The shower room is en-suite.
THE TOWER SUITE* occupies the top two floors of La Palazzina. There is a comfortable sitting room with a large stone fireplace on the lower level and a beamed bedroom and en-suite shower room on the upper level. The bedroom, bathroom and sitting room all have frontal views over hills, while the sitting room opens onto a private par terre garden.
THE GARDEN ROOM* is on the ground floor of La Palazzina and shares the front terrace with the Garden Studio. The intimate bedroom has a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower.
THE GARDEN STUDIO* is on the ground floor of La Palazzina with French doors overlooking a terrace, which is shared with the garden room. It has a king size bed, en-suite shower room with a steam sauna shower and its own charming kitchen.

 TROVATORE is painted the colour of crushed raspberries, with a separate sitting room painted in soft raspberry and green. The room overlooks the terrace and has a side view of the hills and in the afternoon the bedroom is bathed in soft light from the setting sun. Its super king sized bed is wrought iron and it has an en-suite shower room.
TOSCA on the top floor is one of our mansarde rooms with sloping ceilings and oval floor level windows. Painted cream and pale pink the room features a king size double bed with wrought iron head board, a wrought iron day- bed and another very comfortable single bed. There is also an en-suite shower room and sauna.
