Hotel Terminus is situated in an enviable position by any standard; in the heart of Como, a short distance from the Cathedral and not far from numerous Roman, medieval and modern monuments. The hotel is overlooking Lake Como whose shores are rich with villas of remarkable historical and artistic importance. The hotel is a 40 minute drive from Malpensa Airport and a 60 minute drive from Linate Airport in Milan. Agno Airport (Lugano) is about a 50 minute drive from the hotel while it takes at least 90 minutes to reach Orio al Serio (Bergamo). The motorway is a ten minute drive away and Milano and Lugano are about 50 km away. The railway station Ferrovie Nord Milano can be found 200m from the hotel while the Ferrovie dello Stato railway station is about 1km away. The landing stage for the boats is right opposite the hotel and the panoramic cable car for Brunate is about 300m away. |
Coming by car from Milan:
Take the "Autostrada dei Laghi" until Lainate. At sign Sesto Calende/Varese follow the motorway A9-E35 for 26 km up to San Fermo della Battaglia. Turn left following the SP17 "Via Roma-Strada Provinciale Garibaldina" for 300 metres and then turn right following Via 27 Maggio for 2 km.Turn right into via Imbonati for only 12 metres and then turn right into Via Nino Bixio until Como's sign. Drive toward Como Lake, following Borgo Vico for 469 m, turn right following Piazzale San Rocchetto and then Viale Innocenzo XI for 788 metres. Turn left, follow Via Lucini for 144 m, Viale Carlo Cattaneo, Piazza Vittoria, Viale Lorenzo Spallino, Viale Cesare Battisti. Turn left following Viale Lecco for 380 metres. You will find Piazza del Popolo and Via Alessandro Manzoni. Turn left into Via Ugo Foscolo and then follow Via Ugo Foscolo for 73 metres. Follow Piazza Giacomo Matteotti for 15 m, turn right following the roundabout and then turn right into Lungo Lario Trieste. We are at number 14 just on the shores of Lake Como. It seems to be a long journey but it is not! From Milan it takes about 30 minutes (41 km).
From Como railway station (S.Giovanni):
Exit from the station of Como S.Giovanni and follow toward Lake Como. Walk straight ahead until Piazza Cacciatori delle Alpi and turn left into viale Cavallotti. You will find Via Lungo Lario Trento on your right.Follow it and you will arrive in Lungo Lario Trieste.
Coming by plane:
From the airport of Milano Malpelsa there is a shuttle service up to the railway station of Saronno. Here you have to take the train for the railway station of Como Lago (second railway station very close to the hotel). From the airport of Milano Linate a Stam Bus up to the railway station of Milano Centrale and then a train for the railway station of Como S.Giovanni. From the station follow as above. Upon request the hotel provides also a shuttle service to/from both airports (extra charge). |
