Important notice:
To get to the property you must drive through a very narrow arch on a steep slope; the proper way is to keep the first gear, switch off air conditioning and keep left wheel on the stone track you see on the street ground. If you want we can come and drive your car up to the square.
COMING FROM UMBRIA:
From TODI go to ORVIETO direction. Before getting to ORVIETO you reach the BASCHI raylways station: after 100 mt. turn left following the indication CASTIGLIONE IN TEVERINA, CIVITELLA D'AGLIANO, LA TANA DELL'ISTRICE. In approx. 3 km. you get to CASTIGLIONE, where you will find sign for CIVITELLA straight on. After 5 km. turn right at the crossroad and you will reach Civitella in 6 km.
COMING FROM NORTH:
- If you come via the Cassia road, reach BOLSENA lake than go to BAGNOREGIO. Turn right following sign to VITERBO and keep this direction. After approx. 4 km. you will find a sign indicating 10 km to Civitella on your left. You will pass the sign VETRIOLI then you find CIVITELLA D'AGLIANO.
- If you come via A1 motorway, leave it at ORVIETO gate and go left direction TODI, CASTIGLIONE IN TEVERINA etc. After 1 km. you will find a brown sign for LA TANA DELL'ISTRICE, turn right under the railway bridge, direction CASTIGLIONE IN TEVERINA "Castiglione in Teverina" again, after 7 km. you find a large crossroad: proceed straight on to CASTIGLIONE IN TEVERINA, CIVITELLA D'AGLIANO. In 3 km. you get to Castiglione, where you will find the sign for Civitella straight on. After 5 km. turn right at the crossroad and you will reach Civitella in 6 km.
Directions to Tana Dell'Istrice from Rome FIUMICINO Airport
From Rome Fiumicino airport: leaving the Europcar parking follow signs to exit/uscita .
Exiting the car park at Fiumicino airport turn right. Follow the green signs Roma, this will bring you on to a dual carriage way. Continue for 13 km.
You will reach the junction wuth the Grande Raccordo Anulare (G.R.A.) the ring road. Take the 2° towards "A1 FIRENZE" the 1° is to Napoli. Take the A1 highway direction Florence/Milano, get off in ATTIGLIANO turn left direction VITERBO/BOMARZO. After 2 Km. and having passed a bridge on the Tiber river, take the first large street on your right following the indications to ALVIANO, ORVIETO, BAGNOREGIO, CIVITELLA D'A. and proceed until the sign to ORVIETO/CASTIGLIONE IN TEVERINA at the following crossroad. Go to Castiglione direction, then you will reach another crossing with STOP and indications to CIVITELLA D'AGLIANO on your left and in 6 Km. you reach Civitella d'Agliano. From the main square follow the signs and you will reach La Tana dell'Istrice.
Directions to Tana Dell'Istrice from Rome CIAMPINO Airport
Leaving the Europcar parking and follow signs to exit/uscita. Exciting the car park at Ciampino Airport turn right following the green signs Roma Centrale/SS7 Via Appia/Autostrada. Now take the next right signposted for Roma/Autostrada this will bring you on to a short stretch of dual carriage way, continue for approx. 2km. The road goes into a single lane and then you need to get over to the right following signs for Tuscolana/and green Firenze signs this brings you on to the GRA (Grande Raccordo Annulare) the ring road round Rome. Continue on the GRA for approx. 22km taking the exit sign posted 10, 9, 8, 7 for Roma Nord/Firenze and Rieti. (You will pass by an exit for Firenze/Napoli before this but don't exit here). As you come off continue a further 500m and take the right turn off for Firenze be careful here as it is easy to miss. Now continue straight on for a further 20 km on a free stretch of motorway following signs for A1 Firenze. Collect your toll ticket at the Kiosk and proceed north in the direction of Firenze. Now continue north for a further 54kms exiting and paying the toll at the "Atigliano" exit. Turn left following signs for "Bomarzo". Proceed for approx. 2kms and turn right following signs for "Castiglione in Teverina/Spicciano". Continue on this road for approx. 14kms at the stop turn left for Civitella D'Agliano. Continue along this road for 5 km and you will arrive in Civitella D'Agliano. |
