By Plane
The airports you will find closer to the property are the ones at Milan (Malpensa and Linate) and Turin: they are placed about an hour and a half driving from Scopello, and the best way to reach the hotel from them in case you do not rent a car is by taxi.
By Car
If you arrive in Milano Malpensa Airport, you have to take SS336 and follow the road signs for A26 (Genova direction). Abandon this track at the exit Romagnano Sesia. Either if you arrive at Milan Linate or Turin, get on the speedway Milano-Torino, also known as A4 and go straight until you will see the signs for A26: your exit is Romagnano Sesia. and drive along street SS 299/289, as if going to Alagna. You will finally reach Scopello, where your itinerary begins to depend on the weather:
Summer season: Even though Alpe di Mera is closed to traffic, the town is accessible by car from Scopello when the tracks are not covered in snow. At Scopello, take road SS299, turn left in Piazza della Chiesa and right in Via Mera. This way you will exit Scopello and approach another town, Chioso, where you must veer left in Via Chioso and right in Regione Ordarino. As you leave Chioso, continue along Regione Ordarino and Regione Bartina before turning right in Via Mera and you will come to Alpe di Mera. After you cover this 9,5 kilometres distance, you can park your car at a special lot placed behind Alpe di Mera and then walk to the hotel (it takes less than 5 minutes to reach Sport Hotel Camparient).
Winter season: As Alpe di Mera is not accessible by car in winter, you will have to take the chairlift at Scopello: this mean takes 20 minutes to reach Alpe di Mera, and its arrival is placed really close to Sport Hotel Camparient. You could also leave the car 10 minutes from the inn, and then choose: the "snowmobile", which is a sort of motorbike on the snow; the "snowcat" or "gatto della neve", which is a bit larger; or go by foot.
By Train
Guests staying at Sport Hotel Camparient are usually advised to rent a car or hire a taxi at the airports in Milan and Turin in order to reach the property.
Otherwise, you must take a train to Varallo Sesia, it takes around 2 hours from Milan, making stop at Novara-, then a bus to Scopello, 20 minutes, and finally, the chairlift up to Alpe di Mera. |
