Did not see it. What is it? ... I loved the hotel and the people, but what really upset me was that, having choose it for its private beach and swimming pool, the beach was closed for over half the holiday and swimming pool only had water in it on our last day. Please clearly include in your webb site openning times in the future as I would have gone later. ... Transfers to airport aranged by hotel were excellent. ... Yes, beach opening dates and when they intend filling the pool. It was the only hotel in the area which had a pool but no water why? This was disrespectful especially as the beach was closed. ... Need better information on current hotel facilities, what is open and what is not. ... A truely amazing place with the best coastal view in the world.

Perfect - and this includes the transport from Naples. ... The staff welcomed us most warmly and gave of their best attention at all times. It was just perfect. ... Again everything was perfect - and so was the transport back to Naples. ... No ... An excellent hotel providing discrete, unpretentious and very satisfying service at all levels. The quietness of its superb and spectacular location and environment was exactly what we were looking forward to again so much having stayed there last year. As before our expectations were fulfilled.
We look forward very much to our next visit to Il Saraceno.

They arranged for a car /driver to pick us up from the Slerno train station.Salvatore was wonderful and professional. He and his new model Mercedes helped us throughout our stay. ... All staff were so incredibly courteous, polite and thoughtful. We felt very comfortable and safe. All spoke English well enough that communication was never a problem and I barely needed my Italian book. ... The Amalfi coast is spectacular and when we return - we are planning to again stay at the Il Saraceno. The grounds are beautiful and so quiet and private. And beach access is rare. ... Emphasis on the fact that the rooms are below street level and are so quiet as a result was a pleasant surprise. Also, the meandering pathways through the old architecture with so many private seating areas with seaviews should be emphasized. You can watch the morning mist over Sophia Loren's villa from your terrace - and we just had the deluxe standard! ... Saraceno represents the charm and beauty of old Amalfi Coast architecture with all rooms and terraces overlooking the sea. Staff courtesy is second to none. Quiet, relaxing and beautiful.

We thought that the rooms would have been newer and not as tired as we found when arriving., also we asked for a double bed and only had two singles. ... state that the hotel is about five minutes out of Amalfi and the courtesy bus is o.k. but one cannot walk into amalfi due to the narrow roads and danger of the cars. ... magnificent view, hotel a little tired and a little out of the way ie; if you want to have a quick meal one must go into amalfi - you just cannot walk to the nearest bistro.

Location is perfect, room was great, both get 5-stars!!!
But hotel facilities are in need of repair ... it looks a bit run down. Over-all it's not what I'd expect for the star rating and price. ... If you are looking for a quiet spot with amazing views ... this is it! But the hotel is not actually in Amalfi. It is a few kilometers west of town. The hotel provides shuttle service to and from Amalfi, but a rental car is reccomended if you want to explore the Amalfi Coast. Our Suite was excellent with a spectacular view. But there are alot of steps to climb to everything on the property. The beach is great. The pool is difficult to get to, but worth the clim even though the steps can be treacherous. Some are in need of repair.
The food is fabulous (though pricey) and the service excellent. The staff are polite and always willing to help, but english is not their strong strength.

The hotel has a stupendous location, in the style of a moorish castle sweeping down the cliffside to the private beach at the bottom. There is also a beautiful private swimming pool which, along with the beach, was almost empty, even in July. This made up for the polite, but not friendly, staff. ... As above

Pre-booked car and driver from the airport through the hotel and this went very smoothly ... The Hotel looked 'tired' and in need of investment. It was the end of the season and this might justify some of the decoration defects but as a premium hotel and at a premium rate they should invest continuously in maintenance ... An unusual hotel, quirky and in some ways a little spooky. The hotel has a charm which grows on you but investment is needed urgently. The elevators are particularly old-fashioned and although the bathroom had been recently upgraded to a good standard the room was sparse and needed refreshing. Bed and drapes particularly needed attention

Enjoyed our stay at the Saraceno greatly. Would definitely go there again. All staff was very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have been happier. ... The ride from the hotel to the Naples airport was nice. Mr. Salvatore (car driver) was very friendly and helpful. ... Taxi ride from Saraceno to Amalfi is only a 5 minute ride but prices were generally $15 or more. One should know this when planning to stay here. They may choose to stay closer to or in Amalfi. The free shuttle was nice to have but the schedule is limited and there is a maximum of 8 persons allowed per trip. A little limiting.
