Many years ago (1860-65) the inn was owned by the curia of Como and it was used by the prelates of the area for short stays and retreats. The first change, in 1930, was made by Elena and Ernesto Peroni who bought the inn from the church of Argegno, when the priest decided to put it on the market for the sum of € 9,oo nowadays a little sum, but for those times, quite a lot. They decided to start with the first renovation in 1937.

This is how a restaurateur family started: the "Peroni's". Elena and Ernesto have a baby boy Alessandro who, when of age, inherits the inn and, after having travelled all over the world learning all the hosting and restoration secrets on cruise boats, marries Giuseppina Bianchi, a young girl from Tremezzina, and opens a hotel restaurant in Argegno, (Argegno hotel).

They have four children: Celestina, Paolo, Alberto and Elena who play and grow up among glasses, cutlery and cooking stoves. In 1998 they decided for a complete a very careful renovation of the inn, and safeguarding the old structure they bring in all the comforts imposed by modern times. Eight bedrooms, of which one a suite with a view of 360°C over the lake, all with warm furnishings and every room different.

The rooms are no longer marked with numbers but with names of flowers: iris, poppy, sun flower, tuberose, mimosa, geranium etc. all soundproofed and the place is surrounded only by the silence of the woods which gives absolute peacefulness to the guest. On the ground floor, after the little reception, two dining rooms open out: one called "the veranda", which overlooks the big garden, and the other called "the fireplace room" where the illumination of old street lamps makes the fireplace room more cheerful.

Simple furniture with a "miser en place" of exceptional good taste. A young, but surely emerging chef recreates succulent dishes typical of the area adding modern times want to forget. A well stocked cellar, with the most famous Italian labels, the bottle uncorked and served with care, wine at the right temperature in the right glass makes everything perfect. The dishes still follow the seasons. Now everything is ready, and as you know, grandchildren grow up quickly.
