By plane: Even though the most convenient airport to reach this hotel and spa would be the one at Bolzano (Aeroporto Francesco Baracca, 36 kilometres from the Residence Schgaguler), international flights will mostly arrive in the terminals at Verona and Innsbruck, the most important near the inn. The Airport Bolzano Dolomiti receives planes from Rome and Munich, among other connections you may get. Meanwhile, the Verona Airport (Aeroporto Angelo Berardi, 182 kilometres from the hotel) and the one at Innsbruck, Austria, (Innsbruck Flughafen, at 108 kilometres) welcome flights from other cities in Europe and, of course, domestic ones.
By car: If you arrive in Bolzano Airport, go along the Via Aeroporto Francesco Baracca and turn right at Rodlau/ Via Camporoda. Take your right again at Grutzenweg/ Via Agruzzo and at a roundabout, drive into the third exit. This way, you will get on the A22/E45, along which you will stay for around 10 kilometres. Pay attention to the signs and head towards "Ospedale/ Krakenhaus" and then to "Brennero/ Brenner". Take the exit to "Bolzano Nord" and then turn left into the SS12 highway. After you pass by Colma, turn right into the SS242, which will take you across the Fiume Isarco water course. At the other side, you will reach a roundabout, where you must take the first exit and drive on SP24, also known as Via Castelrotto. Keep on this track till you get to Via Reissner. Go along it and then turn right into Vico Vogelweider street, which ends in Via Dolomiti. The Residence Schgaguler stands at number 2. (This journey will take around 40 minutes).
From Verona Airport, exit Verona along Via Aeroporto Angelo Berardi, and turn left at Via Bionde. Afterwards, turn right into Stradella Bionde and take Via Bartolomeo Bacilieri. Turn right into the SS11/SR11 highway, and drive along it till you come across the SS12, where you must turn right again. Go along this track in the direction "SS62/ MANTOVA/ TANGENZIALE/ A22/ A4/ AUTOSTRADE/ VERONA" and at a roundabout, take the first exit. This way you will get on the A22/E45, where you will stay for around 150 kilometres. Head towards "Brennero/ Trento" and once you pass Bolzano, drive to "Bolzano Nord". Then follow the description already outlined for Bolzano Airport. (This journey will take around 2 hours).
At Innsbruck Airport, go along Fürstenweg street, turn right at B174/ Innsbrucker- Bundenstrasse and then again in Innrain. Still on this track, head towards "Salzburg/ Götzens/ Völs/ E60/ A12/ A13/ Brenner" and then "A12/ Salzburg/ A13/ Brenner/ Axams/ Götzens/ Völs": in this way you will be exiting Innsbruck. Get on the A12/ E533/ E60 highway in the direction "Salzburg/ A13/ Brenner" and off at the exit signalled as "E45/ I/ Bozen/ Brenner/ Innsbruck-Süd". Afterwards, take the A13, which will lead you to the frontier with Italy. Once you are in the country, continue along the A22/ E45 and as you pass close to Bressanone, take the exit to Chiusa. Turn left into the SS12 and then again in the SS242. You will reach a roundabout, where you must take the first exit into the SP24 or Via Castelrotto. From here, follow the directions already explained. (This journey will take around 1 hour 20 minutes).
By train/bus: Every hour, there are Intercity trains (IC) departing from Verona to Bolzano. You can also take the Eurostar service which goes from Rome to Bolzano passing Florence and Bologna. Once you reach Bolzano, every half and hour there are buses leaving to Castelrotto.
At Bolzano Airport, you will find buses leading to the city`s main railway station in 20 minutes; at Innsbruck, the bus Route F connects the city`s main station to the airport every 15 minutes. From here, you may take the Suburban train Sub20489 to Bolzano via Brennero (2 hours 55 minutes, the only one that runs daily); the direct DB Nachtzug NZ 289 (2 hours); or if you arrive at night, the Euro Night train to Bolzano (2 hours).
Within the Alpe di Suisi area, you may use the Silbernagl buses: there is a track leading to Ponte Gardena and Bressanone, among other cities, and 7 bus shuttles leading to the Cavinovia, a cable railway which takes visitors to the mountain station, Compatsch, near the skiing or hiking circuits, in only 15 minutes. |
