We used a Garmin navigator so did not rely on directions. Relais La Fattoria is already in Garmin database.

This hotel is an old building. It lacks modern fit-out e.g. no air-con and poor quality shower. On the other hand it has lots of character. The people were nice and friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Proximity to Gubbio. We found this a great visit.

An old fashioned hotel in a tiny village (one pub). Charming and full of character. A really nice price for an 'away from all' break. Nearby day visits are Assisi, Gubbio and Lake Trasimeno.

The first receptionist showed us to the wrong room and we had to protest before we were shown the correct accommodation. The senior receptionist soon corrected the mistake and apologised.

We liked Castel Rigone very much for its peace and beauty. Relais La Fattoria is a nicely restored farm building and the Junior Suite was a good sized, cool room - well worth the additional cost. We found that the restaurant was very busy and the service rather slow on the only evening that we had dinner there.
Breakfast was both plentiful and very good and the swimming pool was most welcome in the heat of July.

A converted farm in the middle of a lovely quiet village in Umbria, above Lake Trasimeno and within easy driving distance of Assisi and other fascinating places.
Lots of beautiful sunflowers growing amongst olive trees and vines.

The woman who met us was amazingly friendly. There were not many people at the hotel and we were trying to get a view of the sunset, so she took us to every available room and let us choose.

We just loved the place. We also ate dinner and breakfast there, both of which were delicious!

Perhaps more details about the restaurant, which was superb and also about the location of Castel Rigone - how it is perched on top of the hills.
