The Swimming Pools Three separate swimming pools are exclusively available to guests of the hotel. The first, outdoors in a raised position near the beach, is fed by filtered seawater and surrounded by a comfortably equipped solarium. An indoor pool is filled with hypothermal water, ideal for a regenerating dip, and for thalassotherapy another outside pool is perfect for a relaxing swim in filtered, heated seawater.
The Veranda The Hotel veranda is a perfect place to rest and chill out under the shade of a pergola, reposing in the cool comfort of a wicker armchair, just the spot for settling down with a good book. In one of the veranda walls, an eye-catching Maiolica mosaic depicts a bygone view of the Island of Ischia.
The Breakwaters The breakwaters in front of the hotel are great for sunbathing, equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs and regularly serviced by beach attendants. Nestling between the rocks and accessible only from the breakwater and the little port, a small sandy beach is a secret and heavenly place to stretch out, close your eyes and soak up the sunshine of Ischia. |

The Multi-active Waters The thermo-mineral springs of Lacco Ameno were already renowned in ancient times for their remarkable regenerative and healing properties. The waters gushing from them are hyperthermal, that is to say rich in chlorides, sodium, bicarbonate, sulphates and magnesium. On account of the many benefits they bring, the waters are called "multiactive". The subject of close scrutiny since the early Nineteenth Century (visiting scientists have included the Nobel Prize Winner Marie Curie), the therapeutic properties of the springs have been confirmed by clinical research and documented in a plethora of medical articles.
Natural Healing Programmes & Pathways Each treatment revives in both body and soul a fundamental principle of life. Each pathway offers a combination of treatments specifically devised to attain the desired result and is tailor made to meet the individual needs of guests. Each pathway requires a medical consultation and electrocardiogram.
Our Products The Regina Isabella Hotel and Thermal Springs present a complete programme of biocosmetic and phyto-therapeutic treatments created and developed in association with the leading Swiss and French research centres. In the spirit of our philosophical approach to natural wellbeing, these high quality products complement the thermal treatments on account of their exclusive formulas based on macro and oligo-elements from Mediterranean plants, active principles and oils from medicinal herbs. |

The Island of Ischia Ischia is the largest of the Parthenopean Islands and lies just off the southern promontory of the Gulf of Naples, about 10 kilometres from the mainland. Its volcanic origins explain the island's mainly mountainous terrain, in which the highest peak, Mount Epomeo, rises 788 metres above sea level.
The coastline is very rugged and indented with a series of attractive and enchanting coves, spectacular bays and romantic inlets, some of which can only be reached by boat. The island was already known in Neolithic times and was first colonised in the 8th Century by Greek settlers who founded Pithekoussai, or Pithecusae in Latin.
After its conquest by Rome, the island became a highly popular resort on account of its mild climate and the presence of so many thermal springs with remarkable healing properties. Today the island is sub-divided into six communities: Ischia, the main centre, and also Forio, Barano, Casamicciola Terme, Lacco Ameno and Serrara Fontana.
Lacco Ameno Lacco Ameno, stretching from the Gulf of Naples to the slopes of Mount Epomeo, is a typical small seaside town with its traditional fishing harbour. The place name "Lacco" derives from the Greek "Lakkos", meaning a low basin; the suffix "Ameno", joyful, was added by royal decree in 1863. The little town rises up on a site where, halfway through the Eighth Century BC, Greek settlers disembarked to found a colony, named like the whole island "Pithecoussai". The Archaeological Museum, located in the picturesque little square of Santa Restituta, contains an abundance of finds from the Bronze Age and Greco-Roman era.
Lacco Ameno offers a wide variety of nightspots, many with legendary reputations. The traditions of Neapolitan music making are jealously guarded on the island of Ischia where the warm nights are rendered even more magical by the melodious strains floating on the summer air.
The natural landscape of Lacco Ameno offers a delightful choice of scenery. Take a long coastal walk in search of ancient volcanic "fumarole", or follow the footpaths that wend through the magnificent woods of arbutus, carob and pine. A little more demanding, an excursion to Mount Epomeo will be rewarded by an incomparable panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples. |
