Travellers Reviews

Locanda della Posta was the most beautiful and accomodating hotel. We had the nicest staff and the best vacation possible. ... All of the staff speak English and, yet, allowed me time to practice my Italian. The staff are beyond helpful. They're warm and delightful. The breakfast is fabulous. ... Like going home to relatives most congenial and lovely. We've travelled the world and Locanda della Posta was the most relaxing of any in our experience.

Our arrival experience was very pleasant. They wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. ... Due to an accident I had before we left California ,I was in a cast on my leg and the people at the hotel went over and above to make sure I had extra pillows and ice for my leg without me asking for anything. They were better than very good they were wonderful. ... We had a rental car and it was retreived quickly on the day of departure and the bellboy was very accomodating. He had our bags down to the car and loaded quickly and we were on our way. ... I think everything is covered on the website. It is quiet, great location in Perugia and it is close to many day trips. The staff made it very clear that your stay was important to them and anything that they could do to make it plesant would be done. ... Perfect central location for traveling in this area of Italy. The hotel was very charming and the staff more than accomodating.

The second night we experienced noise (people yelling) from the piazza , which woke us up in the early hours of the morning. Not really under your control, though - maybe double glaze the windows to overcome exterior noise.
... A lovely stay in Perugia ... The breakfast was sumptuous and the very best we had in Italy, and caters well to the western palate. eg cereal and omeletes available. ... A quality, superior bed & breakfast in the heart of Perugia, centrally located for shopping and the piazza and duomo.

Very good hotel, ideally situated. A pity that it offers limited services: no newspapers, no room service (even for snacks)

This hotel has a long history and this shoould be described on the web side. That is one of the features of the hotel. I stayed at this hotel in 1963 for a month and at that time it was called 'Hotel Vannucci'. ... Cosy and clean. Please note that 'cleanliness' is a must for Japanese.

I thought the location was great. My only complaint was that we had some things laundered. For one, the price was outrageous for this and two my clothes (namely our jeans) came back damp. Enough that I had to place them on the heater to dry. I complained to the front desk and she that it was impossible 'perhaps they were humid but certainly not wet' as if I were lying. I tried to call at 6am so they could put them in the dryer for us but nobody ansered the phone. She ultimately took the cleaning off of our bill and was nice to us the rest of the stay but I was very insulted by the way she spoke to us. ... I would say that it is in the best location possible, the breakfasts were outstanding (our favorite of all the places we stayed)and the rooms were fantastic. We truly loved our stay.

Great location and easy to find once you get to the top of the hill - bus information from the train station is helpful. ... Had trouble making phone calls from the room ... Wasn't think exchange so ended up being a little more than expected (US dollar is bad right now) ... Excellent location right on the main street, well run, friendly people, nice rooms. Perfect place to stay, a little spendy but worth it.

The driving directions would have been more effective if they just said 'follow the signs to Centro.' ... The room was a 10 out of 10 in all aspects, but they were missing the chocolate on the pillow (in Perugia of all places!). ... The nearby parking garage was quoted on your website as costing 16 Euros a day. However, when we left the garage they charged us 20 Euros a day. We felt taken advantage of, but there was nothing we could do. ... The best location in Perugia. ... The most elegantly-comfortable room, pristine bathroom with great tub, two windows with scenic roof-top views, a delicious breakfast, and the best location.

We had a lot of trouble finding the hotel once the cab dropped us off. It is very easy to miss and unfortunately we don't speak Italian and the cab driver did not speak English well enough to show us where it was. ... We had a great time. ... Superb choice for a stay in Perugia.

Overall, the rooms are overpriced (we paid EUR 180 in November for a double) and not recommended at this price. We spent our second night in Perugia at the Hotel Brufani, which is a true five-star hotel for just slightly more money. The Locanda has an excellent location and the breakfast room was quite nice, but entire hotel smells like stale smoke and our room was very noisy due to garbage collection in the early morning. Our toilet would not flush, and despite several requests to the front desk, no one came to fix it. I would not stay at this hotel again.

that there is a short walk from the square to the hotel since the hotel is on a walking only street.
also, there is a fair amount of street noise for rooms on the street (especially during the festival) ... That it is lovely, clean, comfortable and a great great location right in the heart of the old town.

We had two stays: First in adouble-bed room, second in two single rooms. The quality of the single rooms was poor (small, loud, short bed), and it was more expensive than a double-bed room!

I was surprised by the 20 Euro charge for parking my car ... Possibly the parking situation ... Very centrally located, comfortable, quiet given its location, attractive, staffed by nice people. I was quite pleased with it.

It was a lovely property in a great location. My only reservation is that the hotel staff was the least helpful of any I have encountered in more than 4 weeks of travel in Italy over the last 2 years. Which is to say, they were very polite, just not too knowledgeable or willing to expend much effort to help us with travel arrangements to our next destination or with other suggestions or recommendations about sights, restaurants, etc. The few recommendations they did make were often unhelpful, if not outright wrong.

Conveniently located for visiting major museums, churches and other historic sites. Also very convenient for someone who is going to be using local public transporation. Bathroom was nicely done and the room, though small, was simply furnished and adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast table was exceptional (compared to many I've seen in Italy). Every morning there was fresh fruit, eggs, cheese and meats, breakfast cake, cereals, breads and yogurt as well as juices.
My complaints are few. I stayed almost a week and was surprised to see that the soaps and shampoos were not refreshed. Also, there was no information in the room about times for breakfast and the information card to how to dial long distance (to the US) was not correct.

Has the potential to be SO much nicer. Place is a bit shabby and front desk staff lacks energy, knowledge, and helpful attitude. ... Lacks the charm of a smaller hotel in a smaller city. Front desk Staff was a large part of this problem. ... You could charge more with some improvements. ... Needs work and an attitude adjustment
