Located in the very heart of Perugia in one of the most beautiful and ancient buildings, Locanda della Posta is the only hotel that faces the famous Corso Vannucci, the main street of the oldest section of the town.
Perugia, called the "city of infinitive views" by Henry James, takes its guests' back to the Middle Ages and the second century BC with its enormous Etruscan Gate and other fascinating buildings such as the Rocca Paolina and the main Cathedral. |
Neverthless, Perugia is a modern city, and while walking down the main Corso you will get a glimpse into its busy metropolitan life filled with restaurants, cafe's and shops. |
During the second half of the 1700s the "Posta ", the stagecoaches used to transport people and postal documents, were based at the famous palace owned by Marquis Patrizi on Corso Vannucci. In just a short time the palace became the Locanda della Posta, the first and only hotel in the entire city of Perugia.
This charming old house gave hospitality to famous people of 18 th and 19th century such as Heinse, Goethe, Andersen and the philosopher Humboldt. |
Whether it be for business or leisure any trip to Perugia really deserves a stay at our Hotel: the Locanda della Posta is not merely the grandeur of old age traditions; it is also an extremely modern structure that has skifully succeeded in blending the old with the new.
"Our aim is to make our customer to feel a welcomed guest"
