Nearby Facilities

Situated only 7 km from Sansepolcro (AR), birthplace of Piero della Francesca, and only 9 km from Cittą di Castello (PG), the farmhouse "Podere Casenove" is an ideal base from which to visit the nearby towns of art in Tuscany. 10 Km away are the ancient "Thermal Spring of Fontecchio" offering psychophysical treatment and relaxation. Nearby are some excellent restaurants where you can taste typical, local recipes and prized wines. Throughout the year the little town of the Valley organise entertaining, interesting events involving antiques, culinary art, music and art, still futher proof of the strong sense of tradition felt by the people in this area. The Upper Tiber Valley is a wide river basin, formed during the Pliacene Period whem Lake Tiberino filled up, and though which the river Tiber flows for approximately 50 km. The area is mainly mountainous and is the crossroads for as many as four different regions (Tuscany, Umbria, Romagna and Marche), all of which have influenced its architecture, user and customs, handcrafts and gastonomic products in many ways. Even the language itself has developed a very different dialect compared with that of Tuscany. In the Valley bottom the visitors finds a gentle, charming landscape of rivers and streams, woods and cottages, whereas picturesque, rural villages and ancient castles dominate the hills above.
