Initial impression was very poor: rude
doorman who was only interested in where we
parked our car but did not help with
luggage. Check in clerk very limited in
information. Did not bring bags up to room.
However, we later met a different higher
level staff person who was exceptionally
helpful for the rest of our stay.

The restaurant has excellent food but fairly
expensive and service was marginal.

The hotel was excellent
But .... The trains were frequent and very noisy
we were ' attacked by undetectable mosquitos
perhaps our own fault as we like to sleep with the windows open and do not like air con ( Were english and do not have much use for it )
perhaps we should have turn it on when we were out to cool the room. We liked the sea side of Nervi but not the town. A great shame great hotel would return when they concrete over the railway !!! we reserved dinner and cancelled as there were very few guests probably the time of year but the hotel lacked some atmosphere

Everything went as planned. No difficulties.

I figured that the suite that they showed on the website was their best suite, which we did not get. Other than that we enjoyed our suite and they upgraded us to a larger one the second night at no extra charge because I originally booked a regular room for that night, but enjoyed the suite so much the first night that I changed my mind.

There was a problem with the credit card computer upon check out. I finally got through in English for the employee to write it and run it through by hand and handle the computer after we left. Usually this wouldn't have been a problem, but we promised a two minute check out since we were checking out at 2am and had a long drive and a plane to catch. The delay cost us not being able to fill up our rental car ourselves and were charged an arm and a leg for gasoline by the car rental agency. Other than that our stay was magnificant!

The restaurant was exquisite! Pricey, but great-the most tender meat I have ever eaten in my life and I'm 46 years old.

After flying all night and half the next day we might have been a little confused, but the directions were not the best. We went by the street twice and could not find the side street the hotel was on. After asking for directions 3 times we found it. (I am usually very good with directions)

Wonderful hotel. Clean. Beautifully done and maintained. Great restaurant and service, although we had to put up with wedding prepartions and very limited parking on the day of departure.

I would mention the direct private access to the sea walk. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained in its private enclave.

The website does not mention the busy railway line 30 metres from the hotel!

The train was the only negative, but there is nothing to be done about that.
Proximity to sea walk promenade is wonderful.
Hotel restaurant: Service excellent. Food a little over-priced.

We upgraded the room by paying more. Some other hotels we stayed in Italy offered free upgrades, when there was availability.

The web site did not mention (or I did not recall reading it) that there was a railway line passing so close to the property (between the property and the beach).

We were very happy with the hotel, but Nervi was not as nice, the streets did stink of dog urine and the surroundings were untidy.
