The property built in 1600's used to be the house of a traditionally farmer and sailors family. At the ground floor there is still, even if out of order, an ancient mill made in iron and wood. One of the former owners of the house was a famous boatswain, a real sea dog, famous in Riomaggiore because quiet often he used to give shelter to eccentric people that he met during his trips around the world. |
The building, located in the very heart of Riomaggiore, has been bought in the year 2001 by the curret owners who have make of it a cosy bed and breakfast. The breakfast room used to be an ancient cellar where the famous and unique sciachetrà wine was made. This room has been restored keeping intact its original characteristics. |
