all very simple and straight forward - no problem at all

The amount of deck chairs at the swimming pool was fairly limited, not always guaranteeing an available seat.

The receptionist was efficient rather than welcoming. The hotel porter was much warmer and helpful although he seemed very busy. We only saw one porter there.

They need to give much greater attention to hygiene. The food laid out for breakfast was uncovered and crawling with flies. I could not eat it. Flies were also in the bar area where food was also put out. It made us wonder what the kitchen hygiene was like. The fruit juice was not fresh and was very sweet. There was no fresh fruit. The tea made in the bar was terrible and cost 7 euros. The restaurant menu was incorrectly translated into English and I inadvertently ordered a dish containing lobster to which I am allergic. There was no mention of lobster in the translation of the menu. Neither was there any mention of whether dishes contained nuts which could also be a problem for guests. I think we should have been told when we booked that our room would face walls. There was no soap in the bathroom on the first day. The room safe was not screwed down. The food in the restaurant was not particularly tasty considering the cost, however the wine list was comprehensive. The hotel felt 'tired' and is in need of re-vamping. I had the impression that the senior staff had plenty to do without bothering about the guests.

There is no information in the room about hotel amenities e.g. times of meals, check in and out times, available facilites.

This has a good position over-looking the surrounding countryside but is not a hotel to stay in for more than a stop-over. It has potential but this is not realised. We did not feel that we mattered. I had the impression that it was either run by a committee with no one person in control or that the Manager had little interest in it.

One receptionist was very capable and friendly. Another spoke little English and was not particularly helpful or firendly.
