 Hotel Moderno is located in the historical centre of Stresa, only one block from the main parking square Lake Maggiore. Its position is ideal to move to anywhere without using the car anymore once arrived. Boat landing, Congress centre, post office, banks, shops, restaurants and bars are all walking distance from the hotel. |
Coming by Car:
If you arrive by car you can reach Stresa with either S.S. 33 or highway A26 (exit Carpugnino or Baveno-Stresa). Once you reach the main parking square by the boat landing you will see the church: the hotel is located behind the church and hotel guests are allowed to enter the pedestrian area from Via Principessa Margherita (between the church and the Bank of Intra) to reach the main entrance for loading or unloading operations. Our staff will be pleased to show you all parkings in the surroundings.
Coming by Train:
If you arrive by train the easiest thing to do is to catch a taxi that will bring you to the hotel in less than 2 minutes. If you want to walk you just have to go towards the lake and once you reached the pedestrian promenade turn right until you arrive to the church in front of the main parking. The hotel is just behind the church and you've been walking for not more than 10 minutes.
Coming by Plane:
If you fly to Malpensa airport we suggest you to take the shuttle bus called "Alibus" which runs every 3 hours 7 days a week. Please note that the service must be booked in advance and the journey takes approx. 1 hour. The bus stops on the promenade opposite the hotel.
Malpensa airport is as close to Stresa as it is to Milan: 50 minutes is the driving distance from Hotel Moderno to the Airport which is very easy to reach driving on highways A26 and A8. We suggest you to stay in a lakeside resort for your first or last night in Italy rather than in a chaotic big town that can always be reached in less than one hour by train. |
