 Acireale is a baroque city just a few kilometres from Catania (10 min by car, 5 min by train) known for its baroque, thermal springs, carnival and sea side location. In ten mins, you can reach the characteristic coast (or you can walk along the winding 'chiazzette' paths that cross the 'Timpa' natural reserve) or visit picturesque fishermens' villages. In 20 mins, you come to the famous 'Taormina', and in about 30 min. you reach the majestic 'Etna' (passing through villages lying at the foot of the mountain). |

By plane + bus:
- Land at Catania Airport "Fontanarossa"
- Take the "Alibus" shuttle (leaving each 20 minutes) reaching the Central Station of Catania
- In the Central Station's Square, take the bus "Catania-Acicastello-Acireale", by "AST" Company.
By plane + car:
- Land at Catania Airport "Fontanarossa"
- Follow road markings for "A18-Messina"
- After about 20 km you will reach the toll-booth to enter highway A18
- Leave highway by the first exit, "Acireale"
- Follow road sign towards "Acireale Centro"
- Follow signs (visible from the highway exit) to "Grande Albergo Maugeri"
- We are in the main square (Piazza Garibaldi), close to the main street (Corso Umberto).
By car from Messina:
- Leave highway "A18" by the last exit before Catania, "Acireale"
- follow above indications
By car from Palermo:
- Leave highway "A19/Catania - Palermo" at the exit "A18/Catania Centro/Catania Circonvallazione" (about at km. 192 of A19, next exit after the fuel station "Gelso bianco")
- Follow road markings for "A18 - Messina"
- After about 20 km you will reach the toll-booth to enter the highway A18
- Leave the highway by the first exit "Acireale"
