In a world governed by men, articulated by their working and resting rhythms, women were instead the mistresses of the house and custodians of the family traditions. Our bedrooms carry the names of the women who had once lived in them, and the antique family furniture give them a unique taste. |
We have few bedrooms, just six. It's better for us: we can take care of our guests. It's better for you: you feel at home and friendly welcome. Each bedroom have en-suite bathroom, except one, Donna Annina's Room, whose bathroom, of its exclusive pertinence, is just out of the room, up four steps. |
Breakfast is served outside, in spring or summer, or, if you prefer, on the long table in the dining room, where the old firewood kitchen, the battery of copper pots and the ancient Apulian potteries will remember to you the great grand mothers. The dining room is next to the kitchen, that is well-equipped and functional. |
But the core of "Serra dell'Isola" is the great stone-built room, once used as frantoio (olive mill), serving now as a large living room. There are other three living rooms at the ground floor. From one of this, the former stable, you enter in a little secret garden, as orangerie with jasmine pergola, few tables and chairs. At the first floor there are three bedrooms (the other three downstairs), a central lounge and a big terrace with view of the sea. |
