The region where this accommodation is located is full of "masserias", factories where workers also live; they are all painted in white and in this case the sea is only 200 metres away. Masseria Fortificata Donnaloia is a historical building, and even though there are no exact dates, it is thought that the original construction took place between the 12th and the 4th century b.C. Several rests from these times have been discovered during excavations, from goods of brown-reddish ceramic -from the Metallic age- to evidences of the Roman domination.

History does not end here, though: apparently, Trajan used it as a resting place in the 2nd century a.C., on his way from Rome to Brindisi along Via Appia. The property was turned into a hotel in 2007, after a complete renovation that added technologies and comforts of a five-star accommodation. At its 27 guestrooms, you will enjoy air conditioning, a delightful view of the sea from most of them, and beautiful fireplaces that are particularly handy in winter. In addition to this, there is a swimming pool and shuttle buses that take you to the beach.
