The service provided by the staff at San domenico was exceptionally good as was everything else. This was the second time we have stayed there and, as far as we are concerned, it is the best hotel in the world. We will definitely be going again in the future.
... see comments under 'arrival' ... The best hotel in the world.

Having stayed at other 'Best Hotels of the World' the bedroom that we had 'A Classic' obviously the cheapest, but however in relative terms, quite expensive, did not reflect a Best Hotel in the World. It was small, and had a cheap water marked and cigarette marked dressing table. To compensate for this the clients should be able to use the indoor swimming pool - especially in inclement weather.
We had dinner at the Hotel and were disappointed that we didn't get a vegetable or salad garnish with our main course. There was no obvious ordering of vegetables on the menu, as otherwise we would have ordered them as we did the potato dish.
... The 'Classic' bedrooms seem to be the main block, they are small and dark. They have a nice bed head and lamps, but not welcoming. There needs to be some compensation, to bring it up to a five star standard. ( I don't suppose you would want to include the above!)
The Breakfast was really good, both the decor and food was excellent. ... A really nice hotel in an undelevoped part of Italy. It was quiet, which is why it is expensive, to deter unwelcome guests. The ancillary facilities were excellent, such as the swimming pool, bar etc., and the beach.
The breakfast and food is good followed by excellent service around the pool makes for a relaxing holiday.

Dinner - The ambience of the restaurant was very nice but the food was rather disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Breakfast - Very good ... The place is absolutely fabulous except for the food.

We felt very welcomed and especially appreciated the Prosecco waiting for us in our room! ... We thought our room was a little smaller than expected although it was lovely....unfortunately, we had a crying baby in the room below us; he fussed all night long for 2 of the 3 nights. We talked to the reception area and they offered to move us after the 1st night, but frankly, we were too tired to pack up and move. It might be a good idea to have families with very young children stay in one area of the hotel...that is all families who are traveling with little ones. ... Masseria San Domenico is an outstanding property; it has everything you could ask for in a 5 star resort! We loved our visit there and highly recommend it.
