Villa Malavoglia is large modern architect designed house located along the stunning Sicilian Coast between the fishing village of Acitrezza, home of famous Italian novellist Giovanni Verga, and the Norman Castle Acicastello. The Villa is 15 metres from the seashore and is reached via a peaceful traffic free lane. |
The Villa has a small garden, and is surrounded on all sides by an ample furnished terrace.
Windows in the Villa are all double glazed, keeping noise from outside the property to a minimum. There is private parking for up to three cars for the entire villa, or for one car per each apartment.
50 metres from the property you will find many poolside restaurants, where you can lunch or just go for a drink. |
The villa is in the middle of the beautiful bay and offers stunning views, from the Faraglioni stacks on the left, where the mythical Cyclops were said to live, to the Norman Castle sheer to the sea on the right. Snow-capped Mount Etna is also visible from the Villa, and at a safe distance of 60 kms, it makes a dramatic backdrop to summer evenings spent on the terrace.
During the summer the air is filled with singing and merry-making of the locals enjoying the seaside. |
From the Villa you can while away the day watching the local fishermen going about their business, or if you are more actively inclined, the Port of Acitrezza has sailing schools and an interesting wharf area to explore.
If you fancy going fishing, or exploring the bay by boat, there are plenty of guided boats tours for hire by day or night, most of them serving drinks and food on board. |
