From Naples airport if you would like to use the public transportation services you need take a taxi or bus to the railway station at Piazza Garibaldi.
Travel time about 30' min by taxi. Instead of the railway station in Naples (Napoli Centrale at Piazza Garibaldi), you can get a Circumvesuviana local train to Sorrento (60' min). In Sorrento, close to the station is the bus stop "SITA" for Positano-Praiano-Amalfi (50' min).

From Rome by car: From Rome reach the main road "A1"direction south (Napoli) and, after leaving Napoli, take the main road "A3" to Napoli - Salerno (Not Tangenziale Napoli). At Castellammare di Stabia, take the road to Sorrento and at Meta di Sorrento take the road to Positano

Coming by Boat, Ferry & Hydrofoil from Naples: In Naple, Mergellina station is the closest railway station to "Molo Beverello" and can be reached by taxi in a few minutes. Taxes are also the ideal form of transportation for those arriving at Capodichino airport (NA). Choosing this option offers the additional advantage of being able to see unique panoramas such as Capri, Vesuvius, Ischia and the whole of the Sorrentina-Amalfitana coastline. Boats departing from molo Beverello stop at Positano.
