Locanda Rosati is an ideal place for encounter. The evenings pass all too quickly around the dinner table, where Giampiero and Paolo regale their guests with stories and help them decide on the next day's outing. What could be nicer than sitting around the fire, sipping a glass of fine local wine, after a hike through the wood and fields. A spacious park surrounds the house and in summer you can wind down in the park with an occasional dip in the swimming pool framed by olive trees and rock-cut caves. |
Guests have 3 dayrooms to choose from, two of them with fireplaces. The old cellar, dug out of the tuff bedrock, can be reached from the dining room. Delicious roasts come out of the wood-burning oven. This family-run property offers guests a variety of foods grown and raised on the premises and prepared in traditional recipes handed down from generation to generation. Freshly prepared dishes will include a variety of soups and salads, traditional pastas and gnocchi as well as locally raised ducks, rabbits and chickens roasted in the wood-burning oven. |

Visits to wine cellars: wine tasting and the opportunity of sampling the local pork dressed products and cheeses. You will also be able to visit the cellars of the vine-growing and wine-producing 'Le Velette', which go back to 1000 AD. These are the oldest wine cellars in the area.
Riding tours: Riding tours in the green Umbrian countryside, accompanied by one of the Orvieto Riding Club's instructors. The club lies 5 km from the Locanda.

Plant-lovers will find at least a flower in every season and will enjoy discovering shapes and perfumes of not-so-well known botanical varieties. They will also enjoy sipping a natural tea, produced with aromatic herbs and fruits from the garden.

You will be able to visit the most important Etruscan necropolis, and ancient frescoed tombs, delving into a civilisation, some aspects of which are still shrouded in mystery and awaiting to be discovered.
