Park Hotel La Grave takes its name from the deep chasm known as la Grave, which forms the entry shaft to the famous caves of Castellana. Known throughout the ages, la Grave was first explored during the 18th century by a group of young men from Castellana. In 1938 Franco Anelli descended to the bottom of the abyss and, together with Vito Mattarese, explored the vast underground system. The surroundings of Park Hotel La Grave are a beautiful vast scenery made of olive groves, Mediterranean vegetation blend with a backdrop of blue sky. It is a piece of heaven where having restful holidays far from the bustle of hectic city life! |

Coming by Plane+Car:
- From "Bari-Palese" airport take Via Giovanni Garofalo for 150 m, continue on Via Nazionale for 0,7 km/Via Napoli for 90 m and then take the SS16 for 13 km. Exit 13 A, take the SS 100 towards Taranto. Take the exit "Casamassima/Turi" and continue in direction "Turi"-"Grotte di Castellana". Entering the village of Castellana you will find the roadsigns.

Coming by Car:
From North Italy take the A14 Bari-Taranto uo to the exit of Bari Nord and then follow as above (from Bari airport).
Coming by Train:
You can easily reach Bari by F.S. national lines from the main Italian cities. Once there you have to change taking the F.S.E. local lines up to Castellana Grotte. Please note that local trains from Bari to Castellana Grotte do not run on Saturdays and Sundays. We can provide a pick up service from the railway station to the hotel. |
