| Rapallo represents the center of a more wide territorial area called Tigullio which includes famous resorts as Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna.... It can surely been considered a tourist place of international reputation. The sea-front with its palms and cafès which have the taste of the beginning of this century, reminds the recent past of the elite town. In the center there is a mix of buildings, arcades, towers, traces of ancient glories and the remains of Romans ways. In the town there is also a "Castle" which expresses the efficiency of the fortress with the square tower on slate saddle roof, the loop-holes and the entry similar to a drawbridge. In the surroundings some religious routes bring to the famous Montallegro' sanctuary, to the Gothic ruins of the formerly convent of Minoress of Santa Maria in Valle Christi, to the Romanic church of St. Tommaso.....Rapallo also offers services and infrastructures of high international value such as the little harbors, the golf course, the courts, the football grounds, the auditoriums for the meetings, the nearness of Genoa and its aquarium and the important international exhibitions. |
