Found the directions from the train station to hotel to be 100% correct. Greeting and assistance on arrival was very welcoming even though we were early for check-in.

I found the hotel to be excellent value for money. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and the views were fantastic - lovely gardens through to the sea.

I did reccommend this hotel to two friends I was travelling with before I had been and then I was anxious in case it didn't live up to expectations but they were thrilled with the room they were given and with the overall experience of staying there. I cannot think of any negative aspect.

I will be telling friends that it is a wonderful place to spend a week as I did exploring the Ligurian coast. To be able to come back to a comfortable, clean room with nice facilities each night was a pleasure. To leave each morning after having a lovely breakfast with lots of choices was a great way to start the day. Certainly great value for money.

After a difficult drive from Cortona that morning, we were exahusted upon arrival. We drove into a crowded parking lot. I should not have worried because I was greeted by a gentlemen who told me to simply go into the hotel and everything would be taken care of. And it was. My car was parked and our luggage delivered to our room just as the hotel clerk escorted us to our room. How great they all were!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though stated, the staff are the best. They were always willing to assist with directions and suggestions of sights. Breakfast was supper!!!!!!!!!

We were hot and tired and they were exceedingly polite and helpful.

The hotel and its location were perfect for first time visitors to Santa Margherita. We could sit on our balcony and see the harbor with all of its activity. Lovely choice.

Arrived on a saturday evening 8.00pm and carpark was already full but the duty manager parked the car and left us to check in and take dinner.

The interior and public rooms, dining room etc were very grand, elegant, light and airy.
The hotel has terrific views over the bay, which some but not all rooms enjoy.
The restaurant was always well staffed and the food always of good quality.
The whole atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxing!

All staff including porters and maids were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Any requests that we made were dealt with promptly and efficiently. The hotel and grounds were spotlessly clean and it was an enjoyable stay.
Excellent location within the town affording lovely views from the beach area.

Drinks purchased in the restaurant were cheaper than in outside restaurants.

The sea was polluted with contraceptive and sanitary waste on three occasions making it unhealthy to swim in the sea, but the pool area was netted off.Lack of deckchairs which were included in the price but an abundance of sun loungers for which we had to pay.

I loved this hotel. It was even better than I expected. Great value and fabulous location -- the best in fact. The private gardens and beach were wonderful to stroll in; the staff were so very professional and welcoming; the breakfast was sumptious. I willd efinately stay at the hotel again. It was the highlight of my travels and the rest of my travels were excellent.

The meals were good, but the main couse was not good and as we talked with others staying it was agreed that the food was not as good as last year or the year before. Leuggie(not spelled correctly) was a delight and he made our stay very special.

The front desk was very helpfull and welcoming and our room and location was just as ordered.

The hotel grounds were magnificent and good views of the harbour and village.The breakfast buffet was good in a very pleasant patio location.We didn't have dinner at the hotel as we usually seek out restaurants off site.

The entry to the hotel faces on the main street into the village.This means it can be noisy from traffic but once through the front door and onto the grounds and beach area most of the traffic noises fade away.This would be an issue for all hotels in the area to different degrees.

We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was in no way up to 4-star standard, whether in terms of quality of service or of quality of the food offered.........maybe you should offer suggestions of places to eat in the town!

Easy walk from train station - even with luggage
Web picture does not clearly show the newer building - I was hesitant after viewing the older building, but the new one was great!

The hotel charges 8 euro per day per person for lounge chairs by the sea, whether you use them or not. This item should be included in the detail. We were charged 16 euro per day even on days it rained.

Hotel Metropole was very relaxing. it was the perfect environment - my room was great, it had a wonderful view of ligurian sea. the location was great - close to everything (drive to portofino and cinque terre (which were lovely)). the hotel is an easy walk to town. the hotel service was excellent. everyone was very helpful and friendly.
i would recommend staying here and i would go back to stay again. hotel metropole was a great value for what i was seeking,

Service was impeccable. They even relocated the room of our friends so we could both have the rooms with the terraces. They were incredible and we have already recommended your hotel to others!

The whole stay was wonderful. Only one suggestion I would have is not to charge your guests $1.50 for a little bowl of ice. I thought that was cheap and could easily be absorbed into the cost of the room.

We had a lot of luggage to load into our car and the man helping juggle cars was very patient.

I have already described it often as a quaint, romantic hotel with beautifully manicured gardens, pool area and hotel lobby. We also enjoyed our wonderful breakfasts out on the patio. The terraced rooms were a great surprise. I have requested one but was told they could not guarantee it. Was SOO glad they did! :)

A gracious, 'old-world' facility with much charm. Superb location, convenient to shopping and restaurants. Patio for sumptuous breakfast overlooking the Mediterranean was delightful. Lobby and public rooms meticulously maintained.

The Hotel was very nice. Bright and airy. Lovely breakfasts. Beautiful grounds and well located to walk throught the town for shopping or dining.

I can't remember reading about their parking facilities. I didn't think they had parking but was pleasantly surprised when they invited us to use the car park right next to the hotel.. However they didn't explain that the parking fee was 10 euro per day which was an unexpected cost at checkout.

Five star - all mod cons - facility really well maintained. Family owned and the owners make a point of being around.

1. I found the staff to be rather surly and when asked for help or information only responded with minimal enthusiasm.
2. We ordered drinks after dinner with friends and were not allowed to dim the lights in the sitting room, they were all turned on to their fullest extent which excluded any sort of warmth or atmosphere. The staff were adament they be turned fully on and were again surly and grumpy.

1. I was disappointed that the loud and intrusive traffic noise permeated throughout the hotel especially the outside eating areas.
2. The web site would indicate a better view of the water than actually experienced from the hotel itself.

No mention that beach, pool, towels are not available as of October 1 on.
Special mention for Anna at the reception desk for her concern and interest helping and directing us.

We checked out one day in advance due to rainy days and bad weather. The hotel staff was reluctant to accept our decision. I had to sign a special written statement on this matter.

The hotel was very accommodating. Our luggage was immediately taken to our room and the staff was very helpful.

We could not have been more pleased with the Metropole. The staff was excellent and it was a first rate facility. We will return in the future. It was the best experience we had in Italy.
