Travellers Reviews

The hotel kindly offer to pick you up and drop you off at the tabacci shop which is excellent as the hotel is located up a steep hill. I have a little suggestion and that is whilst they use their own personal car to transport guests, they should really ensure the car is clean. It doesn't really worry anyone as you are happy to have the pick up, you do realise that it is a 3 star family run hotel, however this type of suggestion is something that does not cost much and adds to a more sleeker service provided. ... You are shown to your room, however, i think that in light of this, the person should show you the facilities of the room. In particular they should show you how to open the doors ( they are a bit tricky), where the mini bar is, how to operate the safe, how to operate the satelite tv. They should also have a compendium in the room with information for guests that are normally found in a hotel. Again little cost, but if done, would lead to a more sleeker product. The housekeeping needs to be a little more stringent, whilst the room looked clean if you looked harder it wasnt. eg. little bit of dust, the large glass doors had marks on, for a new check in the room should be immaculate. Under the bath sink and toilet the moping was not as good as it should be, in the side board table was a blue water lid. These are all minor things, however, show housekeeping short cuts or being a tad lax. The property whilst overall being clean was not a spotless as compared to the other 3 star properties, I stayed in over the 5 weeks of my trip. The other thing, would be whilst the pool anda sun areas were organised in the morning, most hotels would normally review these common areas, replace sun chairs etc at least a few times a day, to ensure the areas look asthetically pleasing. Toilet rolls should be folded to give a nice edge when the room is cleaned. The bathroom amentities did not have names as to what they were ie. shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, so I was unsure what they were. I am a little more conscious of things as I have worked in hotels for a while and managed 3 and 4 star hotels in australia. Overall though the hotel was good. ... Their were a number of errors on my bill on check out, such as I paid cash for lunch, however, it was not noted on the bill and hence entered onto my account. The hotel should really provide guests with a bill if they consume food or beverages. i am sure there would be a number of errors that would be made. If they provide a bill to guests after their lunches or dinners, the guests gets to check the bill and sign that they accept the charges, this can then be posted on the guest account. Therefore less issues at checkout. ... The hotel is a family run hotel and the Mother Margerit cooks lovely traditional foods. She is also very flexible. The daughter Suella is also very knowledgable so bascially they will do anything they can to accomodate you. ... Fabulous views, Praiano is quiet and allows to really experience the local way of life, unlike the larger towns of Amalfi or Positano.

Some information about the lack of transportation during late night arrival would have been nice. We arrived at 10pm because we got a cheap flight, but ended up having to pay 80 Euro for a taxi from Sorrento because the buses were no longer running. Publish information so users know more about when to arrive, or at least know that an expensive cab ride awaits them. ... Hotel Margherita was a fabulous place to stay and we really enjoyed it. The property was beautiful, the staff was very helpful, and the Amalfi Coast was breathtaking. Our experience was great, and if we ever come back to the Amalfi Coast, we will be staying at Hotel Margherita!! ... They were very helpful checking out. We were even offered a complimentary ride to the bus stop out of the hotel's generosity. Great service! ... Include late night arrival information. We found it more difficult to find the hotel from Naples than the website made it seem. Other than that it was a great vacation at a great hotel. ... It was a quaint, family-run hotel that offered the best service I have ever had at a hotel. Rooms were large, spacious, and clean. Complimentary breakfast was very good. The pool was nice, and its location to the rest of the Amalfi Coast is unbeatable--so close to everything, yet also removed and private by being in a small town in the middle. Highly recommended!

Staff was welcoming and assisted us in parking our car and taking bags to rooms. Later they gave us some great tips on touring the area. ... This hotel is one of the best values I have ever had in my vacation travels. The hotel is modern, clean and has more than the usual amenities for a three star establishment.
It is obvious this is a family owned and operated facility by the dedication and commitment of the entire staff to making the guests welcome.
In addition to the hotel facilities being above expectations, the hotel dining room and kitchen deserve special mention. We ate two evening meals in the hotel and these were prepared to our individiual requirements by the proprietor who is also the owner. Each meal was a highlight and very good value for the money of 18 euro a person. ... I have already described the Hotel Margherita as among the best three star hotels we have ever stayed at in thirty years of travel.
This little hotel is a gem, its rooms are charming and spotless, its staff is accomodating and cheerful and the food in the restaurant among the best we have ever had in a hotel.
For anyone staying on the Amalfi Coast I would highly recommend the Margherita for its combination of value, charm and location in a town that is centrally located yet out of the main tourist crush of Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. The hotel is on a main bus route to Positano and using this bus allows one to keep your car in the hotel garage and avoid the hassle and expense associated with the traffic crunch in the area which can be overwhelming.
This hotel is a winner!

Gorgeous view property in the hills above Praiano. On a quiet street with cutest grocery store down the block with everything you need for a picnic. Close to Positano, Ravello, and Sorrento. Parking on the property is a bonus.

A very welcoming arrival, a perfect way to start our holiday. All the infomation that we may need during our stay was made readly available. ... The staff were great ! We were made to feel at home and very welcome. My Partner had his birthday during our stay and everyone at the hotel went out of thier way to help make it a wonderful one, Thank you again Hotel Margherita !! ... No Problems at all. ... The journey down to the town, though a short one, was very differcult, walking back up the steep hill was not only hard work but it felt very unsafe! It was badly lite in some places and the kids on the motorcyles were very intimadating ! ... A lovely place with beautiful surroundings and fantastic staff.. We would love to come and stay again and would highly recomend it to friends and family.

we did not find the owners and staff to be especially friendly and inclined to extend themselves. While they did respond to all of our requests, we did not feel they especially appreciated us staying in their hotel for the week. ... To access the hotel on foot requires a strenuous 15 minute walk mostly up a steep hill. That was a surprise and should have been clearer.(they did transfer us to and from the hotel when we were moving with our luggage) ... Nice hotel, but if you don't have a car be prepared for a strenuous walk up a steep grade when you return to it.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. Although the beautiful tile flooring in the hallways was nice to admire....it made it very difficult to sleep in past 7:30/8am due to the acoustics that tile gives off. ... We even received a ride down to the bus stop from the owner upon check-out. Everyone really went above and beyond to make sure needs were met...very helpful staff. Dinner was excellent every night we ate there.

I arranged a taxi with Suela from Naples airport to Hotel Margherita. The driver was there when we arrived and all went very smoothly. ... The room was very nice and very clean. My only criticism would be that the hotel rooms were noisy. We could hear people in neighbouring rooms snoring and there was a lot of door-slamming and footstep noise as a result of all the tiled floors, attractive as they are. ... Suela drove us down the hill to the bus stop with our bags which was much appreciated. ... Very nice place with clean rooms, lovely views and pleasant staff. Not for those who want quiet mornings though or who are light sleepers.
