By car
From all directions, take the highway towards Napoli . Drive on the highway A3 in direction of Penisola Sorrentina and exit at the Castellammare di Stabia toll-house. From Castellammare di Stabia drive along the panoramic national road for about 23 km. After the exit from the highway, you will find several locations, Vico Equense , Meta , Piano di Sorrento , Sant'Agnello and, finally, Sorrento . The national road, from June to September, is very crowded and, at times, it takes about 1 hour to cover the distance of 23 km from Castellammare to Sorrento.
By train
The Naples central railway station, located in Piazza Garibaldi , is connected to Sorrento's local train station ( Circumvesuviana ). From Naples central railway station take the underpass staircases to Circumvesuviana . A ticket costs about 2,60. The journey takes about 1 hour.
By airplane
The nearest airport is Napoli Capodichino , only 50 km from Sorrento. Take the Curreri bus at the airport arrivals exit. A ticket costs about 5,00 and the bus takes about 1 hour to arrive in Piazza Tasso , the main square of Sorrento. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or a shuttle service. The prices may vary from 70,00 to 100,00.
By boat
There are several comfortable hydrofoils and ferry boats connecting Naples to Sorrento in about 40 minutes. Sorrento's port is about 500 meters from the city centre and a shuttle service with frequent rides is also available. | | |
