How To Reach Us

By air and train:
There are three airports with transport links to Bormio; Bergamo Orio al Serio, Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate, each linked by a shuttle bus service to Milano Centrale railway station. From there there is a reasonably frequent direct train sevice to Tirano, the nearest station to Bormio, from where there is a regular bus service to Bormio. The journey takes 2 and a half hours from Milano Centrale to Tirano, and an hour from Tirano to Bormio, and is very reasonably priced. Coaches and mini buses for family groups can be organised from the airports, prices on request. In addition there is a direct bus service offered during the winter season from Bergamo airport to Bormio organised by MTbus in conjunction with the Consorzio Turistico di Bormio.

By car:
Bormio is about 200 km from Milan and the trip takes about 3 hours.

Coming from Milan or from Bergamo you reach Bormio going through Lecco along the highway n.36 up to Colico, and then along the main road n. 38 which leads directly to the resort.

Coming from Central and Southern Italy or in general from motorway n. A1 you can choose between two ways depending on which season you decide to visit Bormio.
In summer: motorway A22 Modena-Bolzano; highway Bolzano-Merano; Merano-Spondigna; Stelvio Pass (open from mid May to the beginning of November); Bormio.
In winter: as you get to Verona, motorway n. A4 Turin-Venice direction Turin; go out at Brescia West direction Iseo Lake; main road n. 56 to Edolo; Aprica Pass, Tirano, Bormio.

Coming from Austria the best way in winter goes through Landeck, Martina, Zernez (Switzerland), La Drossa Tunnel, Livigno; Foscagno Pass, Bormio.
In summer, again coming from Austria, you may choose the way through Landeck, Reschen Pass, Malles Venosta, Stelvio Pass, Bormio. Pay attention: Stelvio is 2758m above sea level, it often snows in summer and it could be difficult to go along the road with no chains or snow tyres.
