It was obviously a very busy time for them but no the less when they turned their attention to us then it was undivided and smooth.

The balcony was fantastic. It was bigger than expected and the view was outstanding.
The bathroom looked like it had been overhauled recently and was immaculate.

No problems. The Owner does appear to be a little jaded. But they have owned the place sine the 1800's so it's to be expected I guess. He seemed to be a permanent fixture. At the desk AM and PM. His wife seemed equally tired. The deserve a nice holiday.

There is a library and sitting room which has loads of books which have been left by previous guests. We left two and took two new ones. There were loads of games too.

The best possible location in Menaggio. Right smack bang between the Bus station and the Ferry landing.

very clean and comfortable, delightful position on the lake, and for the village, very convenient for ferry terminal, friendly staff at all levels.from chambermaids to management. Would totally recommend it

Contrary to reports of poor service in Trip Advisor Forum the check in was good and very helpful.

This hotel is situated in central Lake Como area and it is therefore very easy to reach all points on the lake by frequent ferries from the Ferry Pier about 100mtrs away.

I have already recommended Hotel Bellavista Menaggio to some friends and I would stay there again.
I think it is important that you book a lake view room as I think the rear rooms could suffer from road noise.

Good hotel in a great position. Staff are not very friendly are although they did not spoil our stay I really think they should try a bit harder. They do work in the hospitality industry after all.
If they had we may have stayed at the hotel for evening meals. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend for this reason alone.

Average hotel in a great position. Loved Menaggio, Lake Como and Italy in general. Will definatly come again soon to a smaller friendlier hotel. (perhaps the Hotel du Lac.)

Direct in the small town Mennaggio , direct on the lake with a superb view .

It was not made clear that we could have eaten in the hotel the evening of arrival however this was adjusted in the final bill

All employees were very helpful, pleasant and friendly however the owners of the hotel were quite the opposite they walked about the hotel looking very miserable and the wife especially did not acknowledge us when we spoke to her which we found very rude.Other staff made up for this some were more friendly than others and helped make our holiday more enjoyable. The food was a little bland and I think the hotel could make changes which would improve it e.g some evening entertainment On the whole we had a fantastic stay and would fully recommend the hotel

Excellent location but lake view rooms are a must. Rooms are very clean and well equipped The hair drier needs updating and takes a bit of getting used to Food is ok but would recommend bed and breakfast as are plenty of nice places to eat The hotel and menaggio is very clean and people are very friendly Would definitely recommend it as a holiday destination not to be missed.

I read several reviews on websites before booking Bellavista. Some were very derogatory and I was a little worried as to what we would find. However, I can honestly say that I have no critisism of the Hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

There was no parking place outside. So, they proposed to come with the driver to show the underground car park.

The hotel is very comfortable but the rooms in the furniture and decoration look a little old and unfashionable.
The view is absolutely fantastic, and the breakfeast or diner outside, on the terrace, is a real wonderfull moment.

I thought the Hotel lacked atmosphere and was glad we were only on B&B basis. In the evening, the lights were too bright and the bar area was not big enough. Infact, it seemed that it was frowned upon it we sat at the bar. I thought the lounge area was very uninviting. Too bright, with very functional furniture which looked more like an old peoples rest home than an Hotel.

Very good location between the Ferry and the town. Friendly staff apart from one lady ( who we took to be the manager) and she never smiled. Excellent view of the lake from the bedrooms , terrace and pool area. Food ok ( we only dined one evening) but rather expensive for what was served.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Bellavista. The only negative feedback I have is about the dinner. The food could have been better and perhaps a bit more of it.

Staff were generally polite and helpful - management were not very welcoming. Air conditioning unit on balcony was very noisy and made balcony too hot to sit out. Decor in room was fine but reception/lounge was very dated. Food was mediocre one meal in the restaurant was enough. Pool and location were excellent.

Worth a visit but avoid half board/full board.

Shower curtain was broken and mouldy. There was no mini-fridge which would have been nice. There is a night club nearby which is EXTREMELY LOUD

Near a night club - it continued until 3am one morning. As there is no air conditioning, we had no choice but to leave the window open and suffer
