Profile

Gravedona is a town with historical abbeys, monuments and delightful little streets, just like the many villas in Lake Como: you will find it around 55 kilometres from Como, on the upper lake, within an area known as Alto Lario. When Hotel Regina was born, in the 1930`s, this region had not yet developed as a destiny for tourism and relax, but Giuseppe and Orsola Rasella already had their small "osteria", called "Crotto Regina".

In fact, it was better known as "Balera dell`Ortica", and the villagers would spend a lot of their leisure time here, either dancing, drinking the local wine or trying the specialty of the house, mountain cheeses. In the eighties, Giovanni and Giacomo, the sons of the Rasellas, began to work on a project to develop a hotel within a still unexplored land like Alto Lario. Finally, Hotel Regina was renovated and opened in 1998.

There are guestrooms within this spectacular peach-colored building on the shores of the lake: renovations are carried out continuously and the last one took place during this year, when a whole new park was added to the property. In addition to this, you will find an Internet point, a private beach where to sunbathe, and all sorts of facilities for activities and sports around the lake.
