By Plane
The airport placed closest to the property is Brindisi "Papola Casale", one of the four terminals in the Apulia region: it welcomes flights from Rome, Milan and London on a daily basis. There are buses and taxis connecting this airport with Lecce City Terminal.
By Car
If you decide to rent a car bear in mind that you cannot park at the historical centre, where the hotel is located. So you may get to the inn to get your luggage out, but afterwards you will have to leave your car somewhere else. Hotel Palazzo Papaleo has a special arrangement with a guarded car park placed only 200 metres from the building.
Brindisi airport is 94 kilometres away from the property (approx. a 1 hour 20 minutes drive). As you leave the terminal, take Strada per Baroncino and turn right in Contrada Baroncino. Join road SC76 and continue along Via Ruggero de Simone, before veering right into SP1BIS. Afterwards you must take your right in SS379/E55 in direction Lecce and go along SS16 "Adriatica", the track that connects all the seaside towns and cities along the eastern coast of Italy. Get off at the exit for Lecce, change to roads SS613 and NSA71, and get back on SS16, passing by Zollino before reaching Otranto. Once here you must turn right in Via Giovanni Paolo II, left in Via 25 Aprile and right in Via Vittorio Emanuelle. Take your left immediately as you come across Lungomare degli Eroi and to your right you will reach Via della Basilica. This track leads to number 1 of Via Rondachi, where Hotel Palazzo Papaleo is located.
By Train
If your plane lands in Brindisi airport, you can take a taxi or a bus to Lecce. The latter is a 45 minutes service that works several times a day. Once in Lecce, get off at the railway station and buy a ticket to Otranto: you must take Ferrovie del Sud Est`s local line, and it will take you around an hour to reach town. The station in Otranto is only 500 metres from the property, therefore you may choose to walk or hire a taxi. |
