By plane: The airport that stands closest to the property is International Abruzzo Airport, in Pescara: it is located 80 kilometres from Hotel Excelsior and welcomes flights from other cities in Italy along with many others in Europe (London, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Paris, etc). You may also land in Rome, at Fiumicino Airport, which is 300 kms away from the property. Pescara Centrale railway station is easy to reach from both terminals, and then you may catch a train to Vasto station.
By car: When you come out of Pescara airport, take SS5 motorway and then take your left into motorway SS16, driving towards "A14/ E25". As you come close to Pescara, get on RA12 and head in the direction Chieti at first and later on, Bari. Go along route A14/E35 for around 57 kilometres and leave it at exit "Casalbordino/ Vasto Nord". Drive towards "SS16/ ADRIATICA/ VASTO/ CASALBORDINO/ POLLUTRI/ ATESSA/ CUPELLO" and afterwards continue along SP154 and SP149. You will finally get to SS16, where you must keep on, passing Vasto and Marina di Vasto. The Excelsior stands on number 266 (This journey takes around 50 minutes). An alternative itinerary is to abandon motorway A14/E35 at the exit "Vasto Sud", which is really close to the hotel.
- If you rent a car in Rome, the journey will last around 3 hours. Take motorway A24/E80 and drive towards "Chieti/ Pescara" and "Pescara/ Francavilla/ Bari". Close to Pescara, follow the indications already given.
By train: The railway station Vasto-San Salvo is located at a distance of 2 minutes walking from the property. From Pescara-Abruzzo airport, there are buses and taxis to reach Pescara Centrale train station: from there, catch a train to Vasto-San Salvo. Meanwhile, from Rome there are services to Pescara taking around 4 hours. You should also bear in mind that three buses (1, 4 and 8) reach the centre of Marina di Vasto in around 5 minutes from the property, and the centre of Vasto, in 10 to 15 minutes. |
