By plane:
It is really easy to reach the hotel if you come to Genoa by plane, as the airport is only 6 kilometres from Hotel Balbi. Regular flights come from Madrid, Munich, Rome and Milan, landing at Cristoforo Colombo terminal, and once there you can take the Volabus service to downtown Genoa.
By car:
Cristoforo Colombo airport is placed right besides the city of Genoa, therefore as you leave the terminal you must drive towards the historical centre, turn left in Vico alla Spiaggia, again in Via Federico Gattorno and right into road SP1. Stay on this track till you take your right in Via Paolo Mantivani. You will soon reach a roundabout where you must go along the first exit, Via Operai, and at the next roundabout, the second exit, SP1/ Lungomare Giuseppe Canepa. As you get into Genoa, turn left into E25 and take Via Ariberto Albertazzi, Via Milano, Via Bruno Buozzi, Via San Benedetto, Piazza del Principe and Via Andrea Doria. Veer right in Piazza Acquaverde and continue along Via Balbi till you come to the property, on number 21/3. (This journey takes around 15 minutes). Bear in mind that Hotel Balbi has a convention with a private parking garage placed 100 metres from the inn.
By train:
Once you reach Cristoforo Colombo airport, you can take the Volabus -number 100-, which reaches the railway station Principe in around 30 minutes. Once there, just take Via Balbi after Piazza Acquaverde and you will come to the property (the station is placed between 100 and 200 metres from the inn). If you need to come to Genoa by train from Rome, there are daily trains that take around 6 hours to get to the city; and you may also arrive by ferry (the terminal is found 800 metres from Hotel Balbi). |
