By plane/boat: You can easily reach Lipari island by boat from the airports in Catania and Palermo; also from Reggio Calabria, Napoli, Messina, Milazzo and Napoli. In general the boats take an hour to reach the island, when they come from Sicily.
- If you are coming by plane there are several options to reach Lipari island: you may land at the airport in Naples, Capodichino, which welcomes flights from all over the world _including relevant cities in Europe like Amsterdam, Munich and Madrid. This terminal is located 15 kilometres from Molo Beverello port, from where you could take the ferries to Aeolian islands. Also, Strait of Messina airport, in Reggio di Calabria, has connections coming from Rome, Milan, Venice. And planes also land in the island of Sicily, at the airports in Catania and Palermo.
By car: If your flight arrives in Naples airport and you must drive to port Molo Beverello, turn right into Prolungamento Pasquale Borrelli, go along Prima Traversa Via Giovanno Pascoli and veer right into SP193. Then turn left at Via Casolia 301 and continue along Via Circumvallazione Esterna di Napoli. After passing Casoria, go along Ramo H39 and highway A1/E45 direction "A3/Salerno" and "Napoli". Continue along A3/E45 and get off at the exit for "Porto" and "Centro/ Porto". (this journey takes around 20 minutes).
- Ferries coming from continental Italy and Sicily stop at Lipari port, which is connected to the hotel with a transfer service provided by the Aktea. You may also walk or take a taxi, as the port is really close from the inn. Just take Via Mariano Amendola and Via Falcone e Borsellino and you will arrive at the inn.
By train: The best way to reach port Molo Beverello from Capodichino airport is by taxi, while at Reggio di Calabria terminal you can take the buses that leave several times a day to the port. Meanwhile, at the airport in Catania there are buses to Milazzo and Messina, where you may take the boats to the island. At the island there is a also a bus network: the buses part from Marina Lunga and take you around Lipari. |
