 Taormina's premier hotel - set opposite the suggestive Greek theatre - dates back to 1873 and is the perfect expression of Framon style. In 1906 the Grand Hotel Timeo played host to Wilhelm II of Hohenzollern, Duke of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, to whom the hotel's prestigious Kaiser Suite is dedicated. The distinctive "La Zagara" bar - a superb work in plaster by expert Sicilian craftsmen - provides the magical and unforgettable atmosphere of an early 19th century winter garden, something that was seldom missing from noble residences of the Baroque period. |
 The reception rooms, with their large windows looking out onto the terrace, are the ideal place in which to do a little reading and they also provide an intimate, elegant and striking setting when in the evening the notes of the piano gently resound.
