Very nice hotel at Moltrasio near Como. We stayed at a room with lake view from which we could see a big part of the lake and the opposite villages. The staff were more than polite and helpful. An excellent choice.

Arrived a day early having telephoned from Monza the night before & been given, at such short notice, a beautiful room in the Villa Stucchi. We didn't care that it cost more than the room booked from the next day. It was only for 1 night.
...
I had originally requested a smoking room on the website but the room given us was non-smoking so I asked to change & we were given a much smaller room with twin beds rather than a double bed but, the next day, we were given a lovely smoking room for the same price. The staffs' help was very much appreciated.
The major-domo at the restaurant Imperialino across the road was useless concerning seating people & trying to make out that there were 2 sittings & we waited 20 minutes for our bill to sign which never came so we gave up & I mentioned the unsigned bill instead at the reception desk on the way up to our room.
...
I have a very expensive car, so it was brilliant that the hotel had the garage parking. I didn't care about the additional cost per night - it was worth every penny for the peace of mind &, with the lake ferry boats docking so close to the hotel, that was the best way to travel around.
...
The fact that the various lake ferries call frequently at the dock so close to the hotel.
...
I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Some of the staff were extremely polite while others seemed as if it was an inconvenience to deal with fairly ordinary requests, such as booking a taxi. Also arrangements for the buffet breakfast were not clear and staff did not hide annoyance when a number of parties (not only mine) seated themselves, although there had been no one to greet or direct them to tables.
...
Although the location, outside and lobby of the building are stunning and in good repair, the rooms are fairly dated. A kettle and tea in the room would be a welcome addition.
...
I would say staff - including managers - are hit or miss, and that the rooms leave a bit to be desired.

We had requested a balcony, but were given a window only, although we did have a bit of a view of the lake. Also confirmed for a smoking room and none available.
...
Rooms were small. Area around hotel was very nice...grounds were maintained well.
...
Morning restaurant staff could be more 'cheerful'. Did not appreciate the assumption that we could not speak the language, and that we were American.

...
Quaint little town on gorgeous Lake Como. Quiet area located near boat cruise dock. Hotel is old but maintained very well...room size adequate. Probably would not return.
