By plane: Aeroporto di Catania-Fontanarossa is the terminal placed closer to the hotel, in Catania. It is located at a distance of 74 kilometres from the lodging: this airport welcomes connections from Italy and European capitals on a regular basis and is one of the main entrances to Sicily island. You could also land in Palermo airport, but as it is on the western coast, it is way farther from the inn (around 3 hours driving from the hotel).
By car: From Catania airport, take Strada Primosole, turn right in Tredisecima Strada Zona Industriale and then, route SP69. You will come to a roundabout where you must take the first exit, Asse di Spina Est-Ovest and continue along roads E45 and RA15 towards "A18/ MESSINA/ CATANIA/ SAN GIORGIO". Join A18/E45 and get off at the exit for Giardini Naxos. Afterwards go along SS185 towards Francavilla Sicilia, and around 13 kilometres later, you will come to the complex. (1 hour driving). Also consider that if your plane lands in Rome and you rent a car there, you must drive towards the south, towards Napoli, Villa San Giovanni and Messina.
By train: You can reach Messina by train after crossing the Straits of Messina on a ferry, coming from San Giovanni in Calabria. There are also railway services connecting Taormina, Giardini and Naxos.
From Catania airport you may take the Alibus number 457 that transports passengers to Catania Railway station. Get off at Stazione Centrale di Catania, placed in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII and get a ticket for Taormina: this a 40 minutes trip. Once at the station in Taormina, you may get a taxi to reach the properties. As Gole Alcantara is a natural environment, placed in the countryside, it is highly recommended that you rent a car for your stay in the complex.
Bear in mind too that if you land at Palermo airport, there are connections taking around 5 hours _they make a stop at Messina-. |
