The Hotel Gatto Bianco was built in the 1950's by the Esposito brothers, descendants of Teresa di Tragara, the first to offer hospitality to visitors in Capri. Its name comes from a pretty, white cat that was found in a nearby lemon grove while the hotel was in construction, which eventually became the hotel mascot. |
In the 1950's its restaurant was the meeting place for the island's rich and famous. King Farouk, Soraya, Clark Gable, Sofia Loren, Onassis and Jacqueline Kennedy spent magical nights under the green of the pergola. Today, while conserving the unmistakable charm of the dwellings built in Capri during the 1950s, the Gatto Bianco offers its guests all the comforts of a modern hotel. |
Hotel Gatto Bianco boasts a prime position right in the center of Capri and just steps away from the legendary Piazzetta, on the town's Via Vittorio Emanuele, street famous for its luxury boutiques and exclusive night-time venues. The Hotel is a veritable oasis of tranquillity, where, in no time at all, guests feel as if in their very own elegant island home. |
