Beyond the guestrooms, "Il Gabbiano Bianco" B&B offers a very spacious and light living room where guests can watch television and a well appointed brekfast room. Our breakfast consists of cereals, fruit juices, "fette biscottate", butter, varied jams, fruit, coffee, tea and cappuccino. |
 You can choose to have breakfast in the big lounge or on the lovely terrace in the sunny mornings. Our terrace is available all day long for our guests; they can spend some relaxing moments during summer evenings, reading, chatting, relaxing or having alfresco dinners. |

Lecce: Lecce is not only an interesting city from the historical profil but it is a cheerful place where you can have fun and joyful evenings in the pubs, bars and restaurants that get alive in the night. "Il Gabbiano B&B" is located at walking distance from the historical and shopping center of Lecce. Both can be reached in a pleasant 10-minute walk through delightful alleys, but if you feel tired you can still reach them by bus. You can not miss a visit to the Roman Amphitheatre, one of the greatest and most prestigious venues dating back to the Roman period in the whole Salento area. The Castle, with its trapezoidal plan, is a majestic building erected upon Charles V's wishes is one of the best kept example of the Reinessance period. The Church of Santa Croce and the Prefecture are for sure one of the most important and valuable example of Lecce Baroque. This building is now the venue of the Archaelogical Musueum of Sigismondo Catromediano. Lecce is called also "the Florence of South" for its baroque heritage. Dome's Square and the numerous baroque churches decorated in Lecce stones (Santa Chiara, San Matteo, San Giovanni Battista just to mention a few) worth a visit. Porta Napoli e Porta Rudiae allow access to the historical center of the city and close to Prefecture there is Villa Comunale, a real oasi with treelined roads. The shopping area is plenty of shops of all kinds with numerous typical small shops, where you will find the traditional food specialties of the city as well as particular items such as cartapesta or unique Lecce stone objects. Via Trinchese is most popular street of the pedestrian area linking Piazza San'Oronzo with Piazza Mazzini, the main squares of Lecce, one is antique and the other one is modern style. Last but not least we suggest you to visit the beautiful fountain of Piazza Mazzini. In the historical center of Lecce there is a wide choice of bars, restaurants and pubs. During summer evenings you can enjoy your dinner or your drink seating on the tables set on the alleys in a very suggestive atmosphere. |
