Cervo represents one of the most interesting landscape beauties of the province of Imperia both for its position and for the urbanistic structure, unique and unrepeatable aspects, together with the natural environment which surround it. Naturally it is obligatory to visit the village, but I invite you to walk along the marked paths which start from the Castle Square and are rich of wonderful panoramic spots where the eyes sweep the silver green of the hills and the intense blue of the sea.

All the paths here described are easy and not exacting for the excursionist, who can have only a good pair of boots in his specific equipment. Fragrances, colours, perfumes and charming views accompany the excursionist along his walk and with the help of a book regarding the Mediterranean flora it is possible to learn how to recognize the vegetable elements of this place step by step: from the broom (Spartium junceum) with the golden flowers, to the tufts of red valerian (Centranthus ruber) with the thick red inflorescences.

From the wild gladiolus (Gladiolus italicus) with the purple, pink, sometimes white flowers, to the "elicriso" (Helichrysum stoeches) with the yellow, globose heads; from the cistus (Cistus albidus) with the dark pink flowers, to the thyme (thymus vulgaris) with the pink or white corollas; from the lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus) evergreen shrub with the globose fruit, first red and then black, to the myrtle (Myrtus communis) evergreen shrub with blue-black round berries; from the carob (Ceratonia siliqua) evergreen tree with the long fruits which hang on branches in the summer period, to the pine of Aleppo (Pinus halepensis) and the bay oak (quercus pubescens). Ant then a lot of other components of the Ligurian flora which I let you to discover showing exemplary behaviour, without violating, removing or even only disturbing any form of life, and respecting every landscape element.
